Do you actually have any idea, what a meme is?

It's not <url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme>funny thing on the internet, at least.
This. Oh so very much this. How the term became bastardized to mean 'any "funny" thing on the internet' astounds me.

Like the link says, Memes are social and cultural ideas, vast combinations of which make up an individuals personality. Depressing to think about, but ultimately true.

This stupid thing has been coming up so much recently. Just so, so stupid. There are some memes I like, but this is definitely not one.

Captcha: how sweet

Captcha has developed a sense of humor, it seems.

I don't know how many people had to suffer this nonsense for a week when it hit Reddit...
I still have no idea why the fuck it was toast, or why it has big brother's face, or what his deal is with sucking dicks... thank merciful Cthulhu that this one died relatively fast.

I don't think I've ever seen a "bad" meme. They're all funny to me in one way or another.

And, honestly, I think the people who say they hate memes just don't "get" them

I like most memes. Although I'll admit, the arrow to the knee one got old real quick.

I like most of them to be honest, though I don't like the whole Spiderman "this post gave me cancer" ones.

Is that better? :p
YES MAN, THANK YOU!;)

I actually like the other spiderman ones in fairness.

Memes that revolve around quotes together re-insertion of nouns and verbs are mostly intolerable because of their repetition and stupidity. I can understand the general hatred of memes because of being context specific in some cases and requiring preknowledge of the subject matter, but repeated phrases like that are the worst.

The cake is a lie doesn't mean anything, there's no joke to be had there. Even understanding the context doesn't make it funny.

The arrow+knee thing could have been funny if it revolved around guards having bad knee armor or something, but instead we just get a repeated phrase. The phrase being repeated and annoying in the game so often was the original joke, but then it became so repeated and redone on the internet that it became annoying again.

"I never asked for this." Doesn't really work unless you're using it as a response to something. Toufexis's delivery is rather charming however.

For example Ocean Marketing scandal, Geico's take on it was tweeting "we will never wwebsite as on the internet." You wonder: "where the fuck does that come from?" so then you read up and learn about Ocean Marketing and silly Christoforos (whatever his name is) and begin to understand the situation.

The xzibit meme can be applied to context (like Inception) which makes it slightly more creative.

I don't know, I probably have a double standard of sorts in regards to this. Cause I've been using this quite often.

"They say ____ can do terrible things to a mind. It can wipe away your memories and destroy your very identity."

Points to those who know what that's from without looking it up.

Any nyan cat or ponyification. These take no real effort to do and their popular. I hate to be the guy but when Nyan Cat came went from annoying to the cool face of memes, that is when all the fun was gone.

Fucking My Little Pony memes.

Don't get me wrong, the show itself is well written and actually quite funny in places, but the fanbase is insane, and it's not the funny kind of insanity the characters of the show often lapse into.

Seriously, you know there's something very wrong when fans spot a off-animated pegasus in the background, decide that her expression is a sign of minor mental retardation and make a fully fleshed out character out of her. And then the creators gave her a speaking role in a later episode. Madness, I tell you!

The pony memes. Really old really fast. I cant stand MLP and bronies pushing their love for ponies on so many sites when people ask them not to.

They really crossed the line.

Yes, because three, THREE people are fucking idiots that means all bronies love these pictures. I thought as a gamer you would know that generalizations are bad, but I guess you haven't learnt that yet.

The three people are: The guy who made the Rainbow Dash holocaust picture, the guy who commented it and the guy who made that other picture. Chances are that if you showed that to any other brony they would be disgusted to, I know I am.

Also would you call all Bear Grylls fans terrible if you saw this?

Or call all Spongebob fans terrible if you saw this?

All the 'call me maybe' crap. Hate the song, hate the memes.

'All the things!' was my favourite for a long time, now it's second fiddle to 'man door hand hook car door'. I don't even know why, but I laugh/snicker every time... Even typing it myself just now tickled my funny bone.

You might have some small point if I said that was the only reason I didn't like MLP memes, but it wasn't. Spamming various sites I visit is also why I dislike the memes, and trying to convince me to like MLP is another reson why I dislike the memes.

As for spongebob and bear, I don't like the pics, but at least the fans don't continue to spam multiple sites I go to and insist that I will like their favorite show.

The clingy girlfriend one. Because, as I am a teenage male who had a clingy girlfriend (note the past tense), it scares the crap out of me.

You know, the best why to avoid ponies/ bronies isn't usually to post about them in a "Bad Memes" thread. Many fans on this site try their hardest NOT to mention the show on the forums as it ends in a total cluster-fuck. I think the hatred of the show is far more prevalent and annoying than its fanbase, especially in threads like this.
While it is better now, a little while back people were spamming threads and it was ridiculous. As for this thread, the OP asked a question so I answered it. No reason for people to get so defensive. I just don't like MLP, other people can like whatever they want.

Slight image fail aside I'm not really what you would call a "Hardcore pony defender" but it just gets on my nerves that the majority of how the show/ community is brought up tends to be "Bleh! Pones! i hate ponies! Lets talk about how much i hate people talking about Ponies. Whats that? You like Ponies? Well i don't care, stop talking about Ponies!"

I know its relevant to this thread (being a meme and all) but most of the time the people complaining about "The pony problem" are the ones who keep bringing it up. Every time it gets mentioned both sides just go insane. So if you don't want to talk about ponies... don't talk about ponies. And certainly don't go on a rant about 'crossing the line' as obvious reply bait.
I'm glad you like my image as much as I liked yours. That said, while I normally could understand where your coming from, (as you pointed out) what I originally typed is relevant to this thread and as such I don't think it falls under what you were referring to.

There is no bait, I don't think that its appropriate to put ponies in pictures that have to do with genocide and persecution.
