1) It's not cheating. This is why there's no time limit (on this one).
2) Rank is determined by score first, then time. Score is more important, time is the tiebreaker.

I spent like five minutes trying to figure out if it was a trick question or wasn't.

What the hell is up with question seven? I watched the episode again and it's ambiguous. Getting it right is pure luck.
