This has been a weird few weeks. First Norwegian alien vortexes, then zombie juice, and now TES V as a fan project?!

Although doesn't Tamriel Rebuilt amount to the same thing?

That just goes to show you how outdated my knowledge of Bethesdas dealings are. After Fallout 3 I kind of lost interest in what they were doing what with the whole DLC-thing.

Developing TES VI Plugins shouldn't be described as making TES V. It's both misleading and a good way to get served a Cease and Desist order by Bethesda's lawyers.

However, I approve of your choice to develop TES VI plugins. It's a whole lot easier than trying to develop a game from scratch, and a good way to practice game development.

Try the official Bethesda Oblivion boards if you're looking for help. There's already an active mod community over there.

It's called Summerset Isles and they're doing it. One third of the dev team is working on that, another third on Fallout: New Vegas and the rest are working on Brink.

The bottom left hand corner island is the Summerset Isle.

Ditto, they registered Skyrim with the copyright/trademark guys just after they released Shivering Isles.

An Elder Scrolls MMO is the last thing I want from Bethesda. It would harm the immersion very much. But 2-4 player multiplayer done right could be awesome (I know there are mods for that, but I never got the patience to install and try them).

You do realize it took Bethesda 6 years to make Oblivion right - it's likely they are working on a game but have nothing to show the public at the moment and are simply claiming they are not working on it until they have something to show.

Anyway good luck with your mod (don't call it a new ES game - you'll never get something like that made be realistic; you don't even have access to the full source code) though - you'll need it.

You can't be serious. You don't have the funding, man-power, or anything, to be honest, to come out with a game the scale of Oblivion. It seems like a great idea when you get excited about it, and start discussing in raised voices, but to be fair, I'm willing to bet that what you'd come out with would be nothing against even Morrowind.

I will trust Bethesda to do it. If they don't, then I'm sure they'll make a different good game nonetheless.

ZeniMax Studios has the RIGHTS to an Elderscrolls MMO. But its not in development.

Okay, Im an admin on the NewBlivion forums. At first, I wasnt going to join these forums, I was just browsing, but now, it seems I have to.

All of you are getting this wrong. This is not something we are going to sell, therefore we cannot get sued. This is a mod. It modifies the original game. We cannot get sued.


Also, pimppeter2, of course we're modders. This mod is an idea right now, it's only been a week since we decided to do it. We haven't got many people yet. And, we ARE modders. We're modding the game are we not?

Stop thinking so high of yourself.
