Tetsuya Nomura Says Kingdom Hearts III Will Happen

I just hope it doesn't feature High School Musical and Hannah Montana. Since its always Square + Disney.

This is , at lest for me, hardly news. It's obvious since at the end of KH2 (and this isn't even the secret ending) Sora, Kairi, and Riku opened a message in a bottle and we we're never shown or told what it said. Also nether 358/2 Days or Birth by Sleep take place after KH2.

Actually, I'd be willing to bet that KH3 comes out before HL2: Episode 3 does. And they haven't even finished their previous project yet.
On a side note, I wonder if the game would be as well-received if the team behind the handhelds made the third one. I feel like the story of the handhelds made more sense and was more character-driven, and out of the two games in the main series Riku is the only even remotely interesting character. I wouldn't mind seeing what the handheld team could come up with, but I get the feeling most would rather have the original team behind it.

loved the first one, not so much the second, hated the card- combat in the gba one. Lets hope thats not happening...

I have never come across a game that Nomura has worked on and not loved it. Can't wait for it and Versus too.
I don't thiink we'll see it go multi-plat considering it would be the first time kh team has worked with the Xbox but if Square wants the extra cash from the Western 360 craze I wouldn't be surprised.
The release date depends on when Square officially announces it. IMO it could come as early as 2012 but as late as 2015 as well. Depends greatly on what team they choose to develop it. Hopefully team Osaka gets the nod so we don't have to wait 5 years.

Well, I still need to buy Kingdom Hearts 2. PS2 games may be cheap, but it's difficult to track down a particular game. Found Timesplitters 2 a little while ago though. 
And I have Kingdom Hearts, just finished it. I have played Kingdom Hearts 2, and enjoyed it immensely. They refined almost every aspect of gameplay. Does make it a bit easy, but I'm interested to see what could happen in KH3, when it finally comes out.
