So I downloaded the demo for A.I. War off steam because it intrigued me. However, the game doesn't seem to be a "learn as you go" kind of game. I look at the tutorials and see all of these little bits, mostly text based, showing you how things work. I ran into this in E.Y.E. I realize that these are indie games, thus they don't have a large budget, but it feels a little overwhelming at times.

My question is, do you have the patience to go through large detailed text based tutorials to play a game?

No, I have no patience to go through huge blocks of text at a time. That is, outside of books I mean. I usually just skip them and google how to do something later as I need it.

I love text-based tutorials, AKA manuals. Mandatory tutorials are massively irritating. I'm a much bigger fan of learning the controls, then learning through gameplay.

No, not at all, I hate reading in video games. If a tutorial consists of mere text entries I just ignore it and try to learn the gameplay elements on the go. I'm willing to play through the most boring tutorials but when the actual gameplay stops being involved it becomes a no-go. It just seems like the laziest cop out possible to me.
