TF2 for Beginners Server

SO, I'll admit to being one of the people that downloaded TF2 after it became free, but I keep getting schooled by all the veterans every time I play. Does anyone know of any server for other people who just got for free, and therefore are as inexperienced as i am?

Off the top of my head I can't name any, I'm sure there are more than a few servers out there designed for newbies but chances are you'll get a veteran kicking butt in there to just hunt newbies anyway.

It's true that when you first start playing TF2 you will die a LOT, but honestly the best way to get better is to watch how veterans play. classes like engineers and demo's can show you were you should place sentries/stickies. scouts and soldiers will show you some neat tricks on how to maneuver around the map. even keeping an eye on a good spy will give you some insight on how other spies will react.

my best advice I could give you if I was learning to play TF2 again would be to stick to a map or a server for the first little bit until you get a good feeling for tactics and positioning. try to stick to some of the easier classes first.

even though you can't find some of the rarer items in the game the stock weapons for every class are just as useful as the guns you have to find to get.

If you are still having trouble check out the Escapist servers or the TF2 group here on the escapist. there is a wealth of knowledge on this site about different tactics/starting out tips and everyone I've met through the site are more than willing to help someone starting out.

If you look at the server list, there should be a few called 'new players only'. There might be a few better players being dickheads and playing on there to win more, but it's generally an easier game than one chosen at random.
