Anyone else hear about this?

Each class appears to be receiving new headgear, which may or may not have an impact on gameplay. The Heavy looks like he's getting a football helmet, with the Demoman getting a 'Fro, as they call it. The Engineer's getting a mining helmet, and the Scout's getting a batter's helmet.

The most intriguing, though, is the Sniper's "tooth belt."

The same documents also list other loadout slots beyond primary, secondary and melee weapons, including an open slot for grenades, PDAs and buildings. While that could mean that grenades could be returning to Team Fortress, those slots could be Demoman and Engineer class specific slots.

But the biggest potential game changer includes what appear to be Diablo II-like item attributes that modify the way weapons behave. These include variations on things like clip size, firing speed, critical hits, chance to slow targets on hit, Ubercharge rate and much more. Game files even describe these as having levels, naming weapons in the style of "Level 4 Medigun of X ÜberCharge rate."

If these randomized weapons drop from downed enemies, it could make the game very interesting.

I sincerely hope not! I mean the headgear stuff isn't all that much of a big deal. But it would totally ruin their appereances in my opinion. What they have now is what they should have. No need for changes. Like Heavy. What has he got to do with American footbal?

And with the random drops. I guess it would make the game very interesting. But I think it should be kept away. The game is allready more than interesting. Random dropped items would just ruin the whole concept -.-

I think that the hats should be optional, and the heavy shouldn't get a football helmet. He needs a huge-ass red hat with a communist symbol on it.

I agree, the characters are classic, you cant change them. I dont see why they need to change them all, it is one of the goofiest, most fun FPS I have played. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

The hats seem interesting. The randomly dropped items just don't seem like something Valve would do. What's important to note here is that this far from anything actually happening these are only sketchy concept ideas that may never get used or severely retooled. Not to mention that they could be code names(to avoid people figuring out what they actually are like we think we know!). In addition Valve always extensively play tests there new things to see what players like before releasing them. I'm sure that they won't screw this up when they do release it(at least I hope so).

I've heard right wing conventions more exciting and progressive than the tripe that you scaredy cats are screeching. When has Valve ever let us down? Anyways, this keeps the game fresh. And as history has shown, the more updates and changes made the more publicity AND new customers! New n00bs to pw0n and keep the servers alive for years to come!

I'm seriously calling bull on this. Valve would have a mass exodus if they put half these ideas through, and they seem to be far smarter than that.

Some of that stuff is so fucking cool. Adding grenades to it will likely make me hate the world, but the item boosts are totally awesome :p

Well, honestly the only thing that this has promise for is the future edition of female skins down the line.

Bloody hell, BAD VALVE! No bloody grenades for all. The lack of grenades is what keeps the game fun for everyone as very few of the matches turn into grenade-spamming fests (see CoD4). The hats would probably be ok though, and the leveling of weapons is alright I suppose but I'm worried the leveling of weapons will drive off the new players.

If anyone has been on the Steam forums in the Team Fortress 2 section you also would have noted TF2 getting RPG elements.

These elements include (what is rumored to be) findable weapons that have different stats to their counterparts so everyone effectively has different guns.

What you said. Grenades=bad, levelable weapons=awesome, but what sort of stuff will the spy be able to level exactly? Seems sort of questionable.

I'm amazed! You guys are much more sensible than the people on the TF2 forums. Every other thread on there is a whine about how TF2 IS NOT AN RPG!!! WHINE WHINE WHINE!!!11!ONE
