Well, with the engie's update out, I decided to stop playing for a while. It is just too crowded with people trying to get their new toys, and it takes away from the game I feel. Anyone else take time off during the updates, waiting for it to die down again? What do you play instead.

I've been finishing up Mass Effect 2 for the third time. What do you do?

I've considered this myself, but I feel as though these new Engie toys are going to change the face of TF2, like how the Targe and Equalizer did. Therefore, I figure I might as well embrace the new arrivals and learn along with the rest of the community; I did a downtime during the WAR! update and regretted it.

I haven't played Team Fortress 2 in about a year now. So I go on with my daily life.

It's a lot like all the other updates. The scout update was pyro heaven, the heavy update was sniper/spy heaven, etc. This update just happens to be quite fun when you're playing a class that does a good job against engies (read, Demoman).
However, I have been distracted by the relaunch of the SC2 beta. Still looking forward to that game.

Doesn't affect me, stuck with the PS3 version. I really want to get it for the PC but PSS keeps kicking in. I got a job now so who knows, maybe in the future. I'd rather kill the virus in my main PC first though...

Because it technically is in the rules of the thread. I was asked what I did in the downtime when I'm not playing Team Fortress 2. I answered.

I think it's actually pretty hilarious having a full team of engies on offense and winning. It also puts more pressure on thinking of new strategies when you're attack is so weak. I love the class spam really, as long as you don't expect a serious game.
I just play sniper when I want to annoy all the noobs too, getting the top spot is ridiculously easy right now...

Playing a spy is so easy now, most engineers won't even try to remove sappers if they're on someone else's building, most of them are crappy spy checkers too.

Engie has always been my favorite class. It is annoying to see how some people play them so poorly but at the same time that is how you learn. I tend to play on servers that limit the amount of engie's to three. I just got my last weapon today so I will probably focus more on Spy for the next little while.

I love sniping idiotic engis who don't realize that they're extremely vulnerable while using the Wrangler.

Which by the way is easily the most broken weapon Valve has every put out.

I got my three engie weapons in an hour and switched backed to demoman to cause havoc for the masses of engineers. Though I have been going to servers which limit engineers and the few that manage to grab those spots are just terrible and really don't change the feel of the game that much. At least its better than the hell that was the Heavy Update, seriously a horde of heavies on a cart is damn near impossible to stop.

You do realize the thread was directed at people who play TF2? who then stopped playing for a while until the engineer update affects died down.

OP: I am playing borderlands like mad...but I got tempted today to play some TF2 and attacking is a nightmare...a fun one but still hellish with 5 sentries looking down at you at each corner.

If what you say is true the game is pretty unbalanced then, no?
