Yeah why wont your parents let you get steam?
You get massive discounts off games.

And TF2 for the Xbox is not nearly as good as the PC version.
Last time I checked, none of the PC updates/gear were out for the Xbox.

Assuming it actually deems you worthy enough to install the damn things. I'm going on six hours trying to get the same game to start downloading.

In the SSA, it says you need to be 13 and older to have a steam account. I'm assuming you're that age, so, get steam.

Of course they hate steam, digital distribution is the enemy and must be stopped, no matter the cost.

They're likely afraid of steam because it's on the internet and requires a credit card. They feel that a legitimate online business is in no way safe and likely haven't realised that phishers are a little more subtle than that.

Anyway is there even going to be a TF2 tournament again? Let alone one on the Xbox... the gaming equivalent of the smelly kid that sits by himself in the playground. At least where TF2 is concerned. It's still better than the crazy kid who lights fires otherwise known as the PS3.

You don't need a credit card, mind. I pay all my Steam purchases through bank transfers.

I doubt we could find enough Xbox 360 TF2 players on this site to set up a real tournament, but I do host a few games of TF2 almost every evening, send me a FR if you want an invite.

Steam, IMHO, is much better than playing on any system, because of the massive discounts and how you can run into all the challengers.

Moreover, you just install steam and buy TF2 at retail if the issue is purchasing online. I found a really cheap retail copy of TF2 and did just that.

Of course I gave steam my card info eventually anyway. No man or woman can pass up those deals.

You're allowed Xbox Live but not Steam?
What? Steam is free, what's the problem?

We did get a few people from the Escapist and have sorted a little tourney [http://steamcommunity.com/groups/EscapistEasterTournament] for the PC TF2, see if you can gather some people somewhere to sort your own friendly tournament.

I'm a Steam whore. Just show your parents the prices. I got Bioshock for about £3 in the Christmas sale, usually it's £20-30.

In fact I haven't paid over £7 for a game in a long time. If you're broke but still don't believe in Piracy then it's a very good option.

I'm assuming they don't trust buying the games through the internet. Sucks if that is the case. The Steam Holiday Sale was one of the best things ever. I got at least 30 games for under $70 total.

I haven't played TF2 on 360, but I can attest that the constant updating and tweaking is very nice on the PC version. It also helps that it supports custom maps and mods.

That spy is not one of ours!
There's a SPY in our midst!

Also PC version is better, new weapons, new maps, customs maps and servers with crazy custom gametypes, you'll be kickin yourself if you get it on another platform.

They had it on sale for 2.50 recently but that's over by now, prolly 10 bucks.

AND you can just go to a store and buy TF2 anyways.
Unless the reason is the installation and any potential problems with the computer...

Well the xbox 360 version is a neglected piece of shit when compared to the might of the PC version. So unless there's someone on here as brave and accepting as you are for not being allowed to have steam (Or just a complete silly poo for not having steam) I'd say don't hold your breath.
