...How can we screw you today?

What is your worst experience with customer support for computers, consoles, or other technology?

I'm having a really bad one with Steam/Valve right now.

Purchased Medieval II: Total War Gold during the sale last week, because Steam fucked with the launcher for their DRM now the game wont simply wont start. If I use NoCD Cracks it runs fine so I know its an issue with whatever the hell Valve have done with the .exe files, yet in 4 days I have received no word from them. Nothing, not even a "Not our problem."

Worst customer support has to go to anything involving Atari... as they simply have no customer support, something they are being sued for now by Hasbro.

Dell. All the time. Every time I call, they want me to pay for "Advance Tech support". Meanwhile, I'm still under warranty. And they never fix my problems.

CALLING customer support is pretty much the LAST resort I can think of. Last, as in "After I've seen the psychic and consulted the Tarot". Usually problems are solved far more efficiently by asking my friends and acquaintances. Heck, asking total strangers online has a better success rate...

Or Google... google is often the best place to start.

I remember my brother trying to call Microsoft for customer support. After about 15 minutes of hold he finally got someone to talk to him. It would appear the entire cusotmer support staff was from India, with very thick accents. other than that, not much for odd customer support, or bad customer support.

Did get one good thing out of it though, the knowledge of the phrase "Thankyouverymuch Thank-Youuuuuuu"

Shouldn't this be in off topic?
OT: The only time I've ever had to call customer support was when my PS3 broke, and they actually helped out.

I never have a problem with customer support, in fact I normally get free replacements, I talk with them really nicely.

Probably because I normally get the girls in customer support and I've got a wickedly sexy phone voice.

My computer harddrive died the other day. I have an Alenware M15x, and I didnt think it was still under warrenty, it turned out it was, so I am getting the HDD replaced - with the same kind. I tried to get a bigger one, but they wouldnt have any of it. I expected Alienware, being high end computers that people put a lot of money out for to have good customer support, maybe even English speaking people, but no, I got hung up on twice, and the thrid lady was a *****. It was bad, and took about 2 hours, but I got a reason to get Windows 7 (ultimate 64-bit), and probably dual boot with something. I just hope I can recover my Steam games.

I wasn't really sure where it should go, because gaming is involved, with the FANTASTIC MS Xbox support and such, and in some cases it isn't. It was a judgement call.

EA, my account not being able to connect to Xbox Live, and I tried all their solutions, until they came to the conclusion that the best choice is to start a new XBL account. Fuck that.

I tried to hook up a new router, it was buggy, so my dad called customer support, and I went to bed, 'cause it was a school night.
I wake up the next morning and see him red eyed and pissed off.
"What happened?" I asked.
"The damn customer service people had me on for four hours, and nothing happened."

I rarely like calling customer support because everytime i do they always act like they are the top of the hill person and by calling them and asking for help you have impeded their time and slowed them from counting their money and stroking their evil long beards
