Well, we're here at thanksgiving again folks! Happy holidays! I've been wondering what traditions you guys have besides turkey and all the normal things one would usually have. My tradition is a frozen maple mousse pie with chocolate sauce that I got from the New York Times a few years ago. If anyone wants the recipe, message me and I'll send the link to you. Anyway, share your traditions here! Happy Thanksgiving all! Also, to any non-americans, I've always wondered, do you guys celebrate this or something similar around this time too? Thank you! And yes, I will be posting in orange all day to help celebrate Thanksgiving. If anyone wants to know how to do that also, just message me.

We always drink orange juice before we binge. We do the same thing before we open presents on Christmas morning.

No, the UK and most of if not all of Europe does nothing at all like Thanksgiving. Here's my answer from another post about Thanksgiving:

I don't celebrate and neither do I plan to. I'm not even entirely sure what Thanksgiving is about. All I know is you lot state-side like to roast turkeys and then eat it (which is what I do most sundays, but normally with beef/chicken); and then somehow that becomes a big deal.

You say "thanks for the food on our plate" but I don't understand why - as it's not directed at anyone in particular and nobody went out of their way to get it for you. You bought it from a shop, who takes a profit, who bought it from a farmer/butcher/factory, who also makes a liveable profit from it; and they do it all year long, too. So who are you being grateful to? them?

You say "thanks" for people going out of their way for you, such as buying you a gift, or giving you a hand with something when they didn't have to; not for something you do all fucking year for ~ 1000 meals, but only say "thanks" after 1 "special" fest! With that logic you should call up the people who get your food to you and say thanks to them, and their workers, and the fucking cows/turkeys/fucking potatoes - or you can say thanks after every bloody meal! Tsh.

YEAH I'M FUCKING JELLY I WANT AN EXTRA HOLIDAY FOR A FUCKING LAME REASON!

[small]...but it's still a pretty pathetic bullshit holiday that's outdated now you're no longer colonies labouring over your own food.[/small]

But happy whatever-dated-tradition-this-day-is-celebrating to you too and thanks for your "happy whatever-dated-tradition-this-day-is-celebrating" towards us non-americans too.
