Recently, i've run out of funds for new games, so I've gone back to play some of my older games- in this case Soul Calibur 4. My question is- has anybody ever gotten past levels 45-46 in the tower of lost souls? You know the ones I'm talking about- enemy is Taki, defense is as high as it can be (can't grab or ring her out) followed by Zasalemel and Asteroth. I know you have to do all critical finish, but it's still FREAKIN IMPOSSIBLE!!! It's a shame to cause I love a good challenge in a game, but those levels are going to far! Does anybody share my pain?

I gave up on the tower at 30. It wasn't fun and was just annoying.
I suggest you make a bunch of characters and challenge your friends. Its a lot more fun and you get to show off your cool characters.

Thats not bad advice, but for some reason I've taken these levels way to personally. I fought really hard to get there and just can't back down! It'll probably be the death of me. Nobody I know can do it.

I got around 55 before I gave up. It's just ridiculous. I think SC4 was a big step back from SC3. They need to do better work on the storyline for the characters and have those fun "challenge" modes again (more fights with Nighterror and the giant statue!)
For me, the only thing SC does right for a fighting games is create a character. It does amazingly well with your options compared to other games. Like Jestor Lord said, it's more fun to make characters and play friends/online then it is to play the rest of the game.

Then try to uber out your character and master those special deflection blocks. My friend mastered those and got to 49 I think. Also try mastering the grab evade moves.

Yea... looks like SC has gone down the road Tekken laid out for it. Bad sequels of good fighting games. I'm still in denial a little though...

I think thats sad. SC 4 had great potential just like 3, but it just got a little worse. They also made nightmares sword look ugly and not cool in 4.

The strategy I used was Yun-Seong's forward vertical guard break attack, just keep doing that til they get Soul Crush'd. Apart from that I can't help you too much.

well I was suprised alot of people bought it and still play it. Its like sf4. people are playing all the time. ide say its worth it. The sites like ign say it better on the ps3 version because of the crappy xbox d pad. so if you have a choice go with the ps3 version.

Well, I can't help you, but I wanted to say well done. I don't even think I got half as far in the tower as that.

I like the game and all, but I suck at fighting games pretty astronomically. Which is ironic seeings as I've bought a ton of them recently...

Hahahahaha. Why? I saw clips and the game seems somewhat over the top, but is it that bad?

Hush. We poor people like to pretend that BlazBlue doesn't exist. In my magical little dreamworld, SCIV is still the coolest fighting game for the 360.
