Well I just had this thought, I have known 4 people named Phil in my life, and they are either drug addicts or cannot function socially. The 2 who cannot function socially I don't know very well but they didn't have any friends but were otherwise good people. Then there are the other 2, one is basicly a war hating hippy(white guy with dred locks, smokes 3 joints daily). And then there is the other, a drug addicted, drunk driving, statutory raping Phil.

So, I have never met a Phil that is, I guess the best word is normal.

Anyone have any similar experiences?

Also I have never been able to maintain a friendship with someone with the same name as me, Matt.

For a roughly five-year long period in my early 20s, it seemed like every second girl I hooked up with was called "Emma" and they always had a friend called "Amy" - almost every single one of them!

It was surreal. The Emmas were usually skinny and the Amys generally chubby, too. Bonkers crazy.

My bus drivers name is Phil and he is awesome.
OT: Every person I have met named Garret has been a douchebag. I'm not saying all people with that name are douches, just the ones i've met.

My stepsister seemed to have a bit of a name fetish I guess. She dated a few guys that also had my name that I could compare to being a creepy, smeagol like person to a mindless deadbeat who didn't understand the meaning of "No."... you can call me Jack from now on :p

Everyone I've ever known called John has been ginger.

That only equates to around 3 or 4 people, but still.

HEY! MY name is Phil! I'm not a drug addict! And I CAN function socially...I just don't WANT to :p.

That being said, I have yet to meet a person named Andrew who is not either immature, completly full of themselves, or both.

I'm friends with 4 or 5 Mike's. However I usually just address everyone by their last name so it's not a problem for the most part.

I have one friend called Phil and he's a weed addict like that one of yours...intriguing.

I've also noticed that most girls called Amy are quite hot.

Five of my closest friends have had names that start with the Letter D.

Derek, Dan, Dean, and two David's.

Slightly related: Of my long-time four man ensemble (including two of those listed above) I was the only right hander.

I know three Daves, who are similar only in the fact that they are male.

I also know many Laura's again, with no direct correlation.

All the Jack's I've met are pretty awesome though, and they drink a lot.

Everyone I know named Murray (my father's name) has a great sense of humor, and I always meet through my father (he knows roughly four Murrays that I know of).
