Chalk me up as another being terrible at fighting games, they've always fascinated me, but my brain just can't wrap its head around it.
That and many fighting games don't exactly have the best tutorials nor are many noob friendly.
What I love about Netherrealms fighting games is that they are very easy to pick up and play (unless you fight against Shao Khan, in which case who do I physically stab in the face for that?)

Not a huge fan of Netherrealms but they did a good job on MK9 and Injustice looks ok although I must admit its the features I like such as the challenges and Story modes rather than the actual fighting but at least its serviceable now at least as for Shao Khan I just spammed fireball moves with Liu Kang (literally dont stop spamming) or the guns with Striker and occasionally roll and throw (special move) or jump when he does his hammer throw move (because he gets armour again and if it hits he will stunlock you to death). In the story mode with Raiden I teleported and uppercut and repeat (not quite that simple but almost) the most important thing is do not play like you would play normally he will mince you stay away or do single hits in close then get out as he dosent give a shit about combos.

Most fighting games are easy to pick up and play though its just if you want to be able to pull off a load of cool shit and become good that they get tricky.

Anyway as you may have guessed I love fighting games theres no other genre I love as much they just keep on giving also conversely I f***kin hate fighting games as well I almost always lose now because I never get chance to practice .I am ok on a controller as I still have my fundamentals but I am trying to pick up stick and fightbox atm and its painful man im getting better again but to start with I couldnt do anything and everything went to crap basically I am fighting the controller as much as I am the opponent so many dropped and incorrect inputs I couldnt believe how shit I was playing.

I am working on becoming better at Darkstalkers 3 atm because I suck but I love it so much.

Prolly RTSes. I remember when I was a kid, my dad got me into the original Warcraft. The most fun I had with that game, I was basically playing it like Sim City.

What I did was I picked a map which was two landmasses connected by two bridges. I turned on an infinite mana cheat, made a ton of sorcerers, and had them autocast their huge AoE fire spell on the bridges. Had enough sorcs that it was literally impossible for any enemies to make it across (WC1 had no sea/air units.) So with zero threats from enemies, I went to work building the prettiest medieval metropolis you ever saw.

(I was so upset when WC2 removed roads.)

But yeah. I'm just not very good with the "everything and everyone is expendable" mindset required for those games. I like building pretty things. (Hence why I adore Europa Universalis and loathe Hearts of Iron.)

I'll join the "Sucks at RTS games" club.
I can't help but turtle and focus on research/advancement.
This results in me having little to no fighting force in early to mid game, but once we get to late game(if I survive that long), I usually have the upper hand.

Doesn't stop me from enjoying them in singleplayer, fortunately.
