My NES is hooked up as we speak, and I'm damn proud of my console!

Fortunatly I don't have any friends like that, but I do know the type.

I absolutely hate those people who criticize your gameplay even when they've never even touched the game you're playing. They seem to elevate themselves, like they're some sort of gaming god who doesn't need to play games.

I have a 'friend' like that who just constantly tries to best everyone at everything. I tell him I'll be getting a 360, he goes and buys one.
I had a similar experience with a neighbour, he would only ever speak to me if he had some new £500 piece of tec to show off. This tended to be better versions of things either myself or my friends had bought. I eventually got rid of him by outright lying, he hasn't spoken to me since his (allegedly max available spec) alienware pc arrived.

Honestly, I think that, anyone of you who know people like this should do something like this, if you really, really dislike said person(s):

Tell them, bluntly and direct, online or offline, that they should just go away, "Go, just leave, I don't want to know you. You annoy me and my real friends, and we don't want anything to do with you ever. You're an arrogant, self-righteous, pretentious A-hole and don't deserve to even know other people till you realize that yourself. Got that? Good, now shut it and leave me alone"

If that doesn't work, and they still bother you, tell them the undeniable truth; that they need you, and you don't need them, at all.

Just my thoughts.

I'll try it but I doubt it will work. This guy is one of the most needy people I've ever met.

I don't have anyone like that in my group of friends. There are some arrogant people, but overall my group of friends is pretty likable.

I'll admit though, my 'motto' when I play games is, "I'll double your score" I say that just enough to get annoying, but I say it jokingly.

I poke fun at my friends who aren't very good at the game, and I'm sure I've annoyed them, but it's all in good fun.

Maybe I'm the deuche bag 5th wheel. I don't know.

I guess I know someone kinda like that. He's intolerant, bigoted (bordering on fascist), aggressive, hateful and one thing he does in particular really annoys me (whenever I try to subtly get the point across that I don't want to fraternise with him, he'll say 'Hey James, the other day when we were talking/in an Xbox Party/playing (insert game) you went silent/kicked me/left. Strange.../That's weird.' It's not strange, and it's not weird. You know what's going on, so stop pretending you don't. God). Anyway, At my 14th birthday party (the ruining of which I blame wholeheartedly on him) I invited three people: two good friends of mine and the aforementioned guy. One of them, a very good friend, was talking about Kingdom Hearts, and he said he didn't like Final Fantasy. Fair enough, I thought, they're very different in gameplay etc. But no, 'the guy' - a die-hard FF fan - would not stand for that. He gaped, open-mouthed, at my friend for half a minute - half a silent, awkward minute.
Then all hell broke loose.
'What the fuck!? How dare you!''How can you say that, what are you retarded?''There's something fuckin' wrong with you!' I wanted to stone him to deatn then and there with solid chinks of his own unlikability. God, bloody twat.

Urgh. I feel like a ***** now.

EDIT: He's pretentious too. He claims to be poor and lives off benefits, but has all three 7th gen consoles, a HD TV, two PSPs, at least two DS's, and a pretty damn decent PC - for some people, you can't have pity. Only spite.#

Great. Now not only am I a *****, I'm a hateful ***** too.

EDITEDIT: Sorry, but this guy could fill Google if I described him fully. You guys are just getting a lick off a lolly the size of Olympus Mons.

Anyway, he's also religiously intolerant (antitheist). He heard the lyrics 'You'll burn in hell' in a Muse song, and said:
'God I hope Muse aren't Christian.'
'Why?'
'Cause Christians are idiots, and I'd have to kill them if they were.'

Speaks for itself.

I knew a guy like this at UCLA. He was utterly convinced that religion was evil, and thought that America should have dropped more bombs on Japan in order to wipe the Japanese off the face of the Earth. I had to room with this guy, he was total racist, also religiously intolerant, and just came off as a total bastard.

Oh God, I hate people like that, people who "Play for the win"; I play games to have fun, and they spoil that fun.
I had to stop playing Halo3 with my friends because this guy I use to know and actually liked (before I played games with him) came along, and claimed that we're always going to win because he is there.
Then when we lost he would blame us, checking our stats laughing at how much "we failed".
Never again, I will never play with someone like that again, games are suppose to be fun damn it!

I like putting points in charisma because i think it makes the game more enjoyable to play as a character more like myself and not one hell bent on being the best with weaponry and all that jazz. I beat Fallout with points in Charisma and int with focuses on Science and Medicine. It was not only challenging but fun

I would never hang around with someone like that. I someone is really starting to piss me off, I will turn around and tell them to frak right off. Hell, I'll tell them to go stick there head in a nuclear furnace, through themselves out of the nearest airlock, or whatever. Luckily, we have no-one like that in my 'group' of freinds. Some may be a bit backward, but we shall correct them, so we do. Sometimes, however, we get rifts. This really pisses me off, because they are over really retarded things. Usually, both parties will make vauge insults, and fall out. Luckily, we are all male, so I can usually find away of bringing the group back together. That was mainly last year however, and now, I hope, we are sealing the rifts and returning peace to the land, or at least the small congregration of nerds and metalheads.

Why must I always paly negotiator, and why must so many people of my age (16, in case you really care) play the overeactive, arrogant or retarded buffon. Good gods, I'm glad I managed to hold onto some sort of thread of childhood innocence.
