I played the search bar and didnt find anything to this effect. What I wanna know is, whats one thing gamers now-a-days cant live without in their games. Is it the autosave feature? The right stick for camera control? The quick reload button so that you dont have to waste through a whole clip to get to the next? The "look down the sights" button? For you RTSers, the drag and drop whole army command circle? The ability to upgrade your character, whether gradually, or all at once?

I was just wondering whats one thing thats a must have for your gaming experience? for me its the autosave feature.

Autosave?

Quicksave, man. Autosave is unreliable. Quicksave makes it possible for you to test something and then do it over if things go down the shitter.

Dunno, old games are kind of built around their faults. Installing an autosave function in a game like mario wouldn't make it any better, arguably worse.

I could say online play, but some games are designed to be single-player experiences.

Otherwise I would have to say a display screen, yeah being able to see the game is nice, I can't live without that.

Good handling. The game whose controls are weird and can't be adapted to or reconfigured is asking for trouble.

If I have a gun, I need to look down the sights when I zoom in. Fallout 3 bugged the crap out of me with this, but it was too amazing to just put down.

I hate auto-save. It never saves to where you want it to, or to anywhere that's helpful.

Quick save is cool. I'd really have to say though, that something every game needs is story... a good one. I can't care about the people I am supposed to be saving if I can't understand why the hell they are doing this stupid shit.

Being able to upgrade a character is really important to me, and character progression.

Quick save like in Bethesda games.

Ever since I first played Oblivion, I can't play a game without wishing it had quicksave.

Quicksave is great, but if a game has a decent, play-tested Autosave system, it isn't entirely necessary.

My nominee would be a character customizer. It doesn't even have to be a fully robust one. But a game should at least let me play as a guy who sorta looks like Mr. T, or I'm not going to get personally invested in it.

GTA, I'm looking at you. Saints' Row 2 - 1000 points.

Any form of autosave. My computer loves to crash on me, so I get reaally pissed off if I start up my game again, and then see that I'm far behind where I once was.
I then proceed to bash the side of my computer with a hammer about three times.

I can't deal with an RPG where I can't save whenever I want. There are still a couple games out there that cling to the idea of save points, and it makes most of those games almost unplayable for me. Is it really that difficult to allow me to save when I want?????
