The Confederate flag. Loved the Dukes of Hazard when I was a kid, and there's a big rebel flag on the side of their car. No controversy whatsoever. Now, a remnant of regionalism is "racist".

Before the flamethrowers come out: I think that a person who does something that is generally perceived to be racist is doing so in order to troll irl, making them what is commonly referred to as a dick. And that person is likely to be racist. But there is nothing racist about the flag itself.

in Germany it used to be Ok to call foreigners "ausländer(meaning foreigner)" but a while a ago that apperently became racist so we started calling them "Menschen mit Migrationshintergrund" which basically means that they migrated here at some point. It's incredibly annoying and also tends to make sentences incredibly long. And it's not PC in Germany to disagree with someone who is Jewish. Because they are Jewish and if you disagree with a Jew you apparently become Hitlers little helper.

racism is overblown these days. there are whole organizations to dealing with racism. in my opinion the NAACP is far more racist than most people. if white people had an organization that gave out awards ONLY to white people they would get the s#$@ sued out of them in seconds, however, the NAACP is allowed to do this. they also blow alot of crap out of proportion.

Black people are a minority. There's nothing wrong there. As a minority, they need to be assured fairness or try to achieve excellence by helping their own race. Being a minority starts you off at a disadvantage, so I have no problem with the incentives or awards given out to help even out things such as education and workforce. Some government programs I have problems with, but NAACP is totally legit.

And yes, being a majority and already getting numerous scholarships and awards, whites excluding other races would be racist.

When I was younger people of mixed (black and white) race were known as "half-cast". This is not acceptable these days apparently.

BTW in a town called Harwich close to where I live there is a yearly event around christmas where Santa comes to town with his companion Black Peter who is supposed to be a representation of the devil! How bad is that?!

When I was a kid (15 years ago) we had a lawn jockey. You know, the black statue in jockey clothes with the big red lips and holding a gas lantern. Well, we had one made out of cast iron (easily 100lbs) and no one bothered with it.

We moved across town and put it in our front yard for 10+ years, again no problems. Black family moved in down the block and saw it while walking their dog and the guy got REALLY pissed about it. He came banging on my door, got himself into a rage (like in my face rage) and my dad had to show him off our property with a 12 gauge.

Now I see what he COULD be pissed about but I wouldn't go onto someone's personal property to tell them I don't like their choice of porch decorations.

Racism today tends to forget people are mean,apathetic and stereotypical to X, Y or Z. And thus go out of way of logic and reason to re correct reality by saying if it looks like it might slight the apparent minority its world shattering maddens but if it slights in the other direction its A ok family friendly good laughs.
