Ok, the back story here is a bit tedious to read, and it's pokemon related, so just skip to the last line for the main point of this thread if you're not interested.

Anyway, I recently started playing Pokemon Red on my old gameboy again, and I've pulled a somewhat amazing feat a few minutes ago, involving the gym leader Misty.
Here was my party:
L 17 Jigglypuff
L 17 Magikarp
L 11 Paras
L 19 Geodude
L 18 Beedrill
L 21 Charmeleon
To anyone with experience in these games, one would know that Paras is the only one with an advantage over water pokemon. However, all paras knew was scratch and it could only take 3-4 hits before fainting. Odds were against me, because two of my three most powerful pokemon were weak against Misty and the third had low defense. Odds were highly against me.

So, after failing so many times, I eventually came up with a plan on how to beat that cheap *****.
I started off with Jigglypuff against Staryu. Staryu uses watergun and I disable it. I then switched to Charmeleon; having only one weak attack with which to use, Staryu was at a disadvantage. I used seismic toss twice and killed Staryu, suffering 5 HP loss from tackle.

Now for the hard part. Since Starmi has like 300 billion trillion speed, relatively high defense, and two very hard hitting attacks, I had little chance to survive.

First, I pulled out Beedrill, using stringshot to slow Starmi the fuck down. After using it 4 times, Beedrill had been tackled to death.
I then pulled out Paras and Magikarp to slowly whittle down Starmi's HP. Both one after each other, I took out about 1/6th of Starmi's health. I tried to get Geodude to use mega punch, but Starmi is too damn fast and one-shotted it with a water attack. I then pulled out Jigglypuff again and miraculously disabled bubblebeam. Jigglypuff fainted, but the deed was sealed. I then pulled out Charmeleon again and seismic-tossed Starmi to death, surviving with about 1/4th HP left.

That's right, I beat Misty with a charmeleon.

---

So, now for the main point.
Have you ever pulled an amazing, near impossible feat when all the odds were against you, either in game or in real life?

EDIT: Whoops, I just noticed that other thread about in-game pwning. I guess the two threads are a bit different, so mods, feel free to lock if you need. Posters, post in whichever thread you like better.

Ha, I beat Misty with a Charizard, that was when I was twelve though. I had a killer team.

Feats I'm proud of.... Oh, I passed AP Calculus in high school, and I was known for being a slacker.

...

Wow, not much of a feat huh?

wow.

really, my solution would have been to grind the hell out of my Pokemon but thats amazing. I never suffer from things like that, I always plan to meticulously when it comes to things like that. It's why I had to actually promise myself to play the next original(like, not the new remakes of gold/silver) Pokemon game without planning ahead.

And about the class, it could be considered either way. I almost never do my homework and I never study for tests, but I still do excellent on tests.

You dont have to beat Misty until you finish the S.S. Anne, and I was twelve and bored so I was grinding the hell out of that game.

Im the same way when it comes to school, just not with my Calculus tests >.>, aced physics without cracking open my text book on my own time though.

When i first played these games i wandered around getting into random fights for about 3 weeks before i started the main quest line. Needless to say i killed everyone because all my pokemon were ridiculously high leveled. Even the final trainers were a joke.
Hehe.

The first time I played, I would only train Charmander, except in cases of extreme disadvantage. By the time I got to the elite 4, I had a L 72 Charizard that destroyed them. I lost about half my health by the end.

This is how I played Pokémon every time. Train the starter until it can destroy pretty much everything, including certain Legendaries.. You should see some of the teams I've had. LV 70-something Starter, every Legendary (I have no life.), and a ton of lame below-LV-20s stocked up in the PC.

In response to the topic: No, no I have not. *Sigh*

Well, since I'm slogging through Dead Rising at the moment, I was attempting to escort those two japanese tourists to safety from Wonderland Plaza. Problem was, I only had about an hour before a required scoop was going to start, and I had to be back at the safe-house and in the security room for it. But I had to save these two before that or I'd never make it to them. And since I'm obsessive compulsive when it comes to completing everything I can in a game, I was trying over and over again to save these two and failing because they either got swamped by zombies because their AI SUCKS, or because we took too long and I missed the scoop, resulting in a game over.

Finally, I got fed up after my tenth try, got on game faqs and read a few strategies. I ran from the safe house to Paradise Plaza where I bashed two zombie policemen to take their guns, then through Leisure Park, through the Northern Plaza and stopped at the blade store to grab about three katanas. Headed for Wonderland Plaza, grabbed my two survivors and gave them each a gun. Stopped long enough to get the magazine from the book store that would lengthen the amount of time I could use bladed weapons, then herded them to a passage on the first floor that would take us to the Northern Plaza and bypass some of the denser crowds of zombies.

Between killing as many zombies as possible and trying to save time by only killing enough, I managed to get them through the Northern Plaza while getting lucky enough to get a few queen bugs so I could kill a zombie crowd if things got tight. Got them across the park and into Paradise Plaza without getting run down by the convicts and barely managed to get them to the warehouse door, using my last queen in the process. By some miracle we got to the safehouse and I finally got my escort points. I had to do this 15 TIMES for it to work.

The first time I played pokemon (it was pokemon yellow) I did what Ash did. I trained my pikachu to lvl 25-30 (can't remember the lvl exaclty) and I beat Brock only using my pikachu. (I had a pidgeotto that I also trained but didn't use)

Farcry 2, that mission where you have to get some files from a Police Chief's Brother? About 22 men and 2 patrol boats sweeping his Dock house. I had a broken sniper and a silenced pistol. broad daylight. came in on a boat, docked about 50 yards away. camped in some brush, took out 2 snipers. made my way toward the docks, got every man, didn't raise an alarm once.
Got the files, shot the brother in the head, walked out, lured one of the boats over to me, tossed a grenade into it, ran to the other side of the dock and shot the other boats driver and gunner, made my escape.

To do this in Farcry 2, in broad daylight, without the camo suit... I was Fisher, Bourne, and Bauer all rolled into one.

Beating all the Halo 1 levels on legendary probably stands as my proudest video game moment.
Damn, Halo 1 on Legendary was brutal. Last time I tried, I couldn't get past the part where you first land on the ring.

I feel I'm repeating myself but I'll say it anyway - I shot down an airplane with a tank in Battlefield 2 once while the pilot was doing a fly-by at me. Sure I died, but so did the pilot. He was right in my scope.

Then this one time just days ago in Left 4 Dead I managed to Boomer all the Survivors in VS but the fucking achievement system cheated me for the "Barf Bagged" achievement (which is to vomit on all the Survivors).

Team Fortress 2

I had an inkling there was a spy around, so I took my Sniper and sat down at the top of the stairs near a turret, drawing a bead on the far wall.

Very soon, up comes a friendly Pyro, who stops as he sees me there, obviously switching from sapper to butterfly knife.

SURPRISE! I pull my butterfly knife and lunge at him.

Stab: COUNTER ESPIONAGE : COME IN FROM THE COLD : SPY MILESTONE 2

Second later : SLASH AND BURN

Second later : Ragequit

I sat there giggling for sometime after that.

One time, I was playing Halo 2 with some people who had won tournaments and stuff like that. I was expecting to die horribly, but I still had fun. So I was going around, dying, when I saw a chance... and I took it. I back-smacked a guy and killed him. Lo and behold, I got the opportunity again, against the same guy, and I killed him again.

I didn't think much of it until I saw him on the television channel USA playing and winning in an MLG tournament. He was FatalJohn, who is (if I remember correctly) a member of the team Final Boss, the #1 Halo team in the world.

I was proud of it.

*shocked into awe*

You sir are amazing.

I would have to say beating both N and N+ totally and completely was a good part of my life that I shall never have back, but was sooooooo worth pissing away. Especially the last sections of both games. Damn near impossible. I think I replayed the last Episode on each one at least 10,000 times. Good times :D

Hmm, well I have to go back to TF2 for this one. Back when I was in my prime for sniping I managed to take down a Heavy and his two medics as they crossed the bridge on 2Fort. Yes I had some help from teammates but I got the kills!
