Okay, it is official. I am done with Gamestop. They have screwed me over for the last friggin' time. I ordered the Gears of War 3 epic edition and retro lancer months ago when they said they still have them. They took my order. They took my money.

Couple of days ago,I got an email from them saying that they can no longer process my order and dropped it. No, I didn't get a refund either and they are not responding to me when trying to contact them.

This is the 5th time they screwed me over in a row. People have tried telling me Gamestop is honest and stuff, but from my perspective they treated me like crap. I can't even tell you all the stories I had with this company and I am getting problems every time I go to this place.

I tried giving them chances, but I am tired of it. I am ordering from Amazon from now on. I don't care if I have to wait a few more days for my stuff to ship

The equivelant to Gamestop in the UK is GAME.

After they got my copy of Deus Ex: HR to me 4 days late, I decided to take my business somewhere else.

I order from amazon. Things are around 10 quid cheaper and if you pre order you get it on release date. Fuck Game and fuck Gamestation (Now owned by game and they scrapped the bargain bin, fuckers)

It seems to me that Gamestops are hit and miss. The ones ive been to are rather nice, and Ive heard just as many good stories about them as i have bad.

Gamestop has never given me any problems, but if you really don't like it take your business elsewhere, I suppose.

Keep trying to complain. Thats down-right theft if they've taken your money already. If all else fails, go to the shop directly and demand your money back.

Question: Does Walmart have a preorder system? Are they reliable?

Because it seems like there are a whole lot of horror stories out there of people who have been screwed over by gamestop and I rather not do business with them.

I always hear people with bad stories about GameStop, but I have never had a problem with any of the ones around here I've gone to.

Wow I never had a problem with my gamestop at all, but it is hit and miss. I mean I forgot to mention my fire emblem preorder and when i went back they got me my bonus no problem, and the people love to crack jokes with me and me friends. But it seems your gamestop was a bunch of jerks and you should have demanded your money back cause you didn't get the product you ordered. But I hear bad stories, but I never had any problems with the one I go to a lot.

Five times? How in the name of potato did they manage to screw you over five times? What possessed you to give them more chances than, I don't know, two?

It's nice that you are taking your custom elsewhere, I just can't help but think you should've done it sooner.

I've never had an issue with GameStop personally, and I'm not saying that to try and get you to forgive them. What happened to you is criminal, I agree. But instead of trying to contact corporate, which never works for any big corporation, you should take it to the store you did it at, unless it was over the net, in which case, you might be screwed.

And seriously, you gave them five chances? And they did stuff like this every time? I would've called it quits after two or three, at most. I mean, really, if your GameStop is filled with crooks or whatnot, it is time to go somewhere else. I am loyal to my GameStop, but I wouldn't be if they took my money unjustly.

I mean really. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me five times and maybe I deserved it. I obviously didn't learn from the first four times it happened.

Actually, I think there are three GameStops in the UK. One in Birmingham, one in Manchester, one in Edinburgh I think.
I don't know much about them though, just that they exist and nobody goes to them.

They have a pre-order system and I haven't heard anything bad about it. That being said, I still use Gamestop/Steam or Amazon whichever is easiest/ going to give me the nicest swag if I pre-order at all.

Anyhow, if the same store screws you over five times that's your fault. After the second time, start going somewhere else..

I hate the patronizing staff in Gamestation that try to groom you if you are young. I'm 14 and every time I go in there they're all
"Alright mate, can I help you find anything?"
"No thanks, I'm fine."
"Ok, give me a shout if you need anything mate"
The same dialog EVERY FUCKING TIME. And I live in a pretty small town, plus I'm a pretty distinctive character.
Also
I go to the counter to buy Crysis.
"Alright mate, are you sure your computer can run this mate?"
"Yeah, I've just upgraded to a dual core i5"
"*Wince* It says you need a 3 dot zero gb processor for this mate.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

They know fuck all.

I bough SC 3000 last month and the guy told me to check system requirements in case my PC couldn't run it.

*looks*

"Needs 1MB of RAM"

Yeah... I think I'm good...
Not that I like gamestop (I don't; it's the exact opposite actually), but you have to understand how stupid your average gamestop shopper is.

I'm sure you can imagine a scenario were a little kid realizes X game is cheaper on the computer, and without knowing his specs, buys the game. And then, after realizing the game won't run on his mom's laptop, trys to return/trade in the game.

Then you have to deal with the parents who know even less about computers, but pretend like they know everything about them.

Even though Gamestop is in no way responsible, those bratty kids and their annoying parents take up company time and resources.

It's probably just easier to assume everyone's an idiot then not say anything at all.

EDIT:

That. I always leave with a good deal because of their second-hand games, and I never preorder anyway.
