Well, there's a lot on sale. It would help us recommend stuff if you'd tell us what games you enjoy. Would you kindly list a few of your favorite games so we can get a feel for what you like?
Actually, I was thinking it would benefit everybody if people said which ones they've really enjoyed in the past. I like too many games so I'm open for anything thoroughly interesting and well done.
Alrighty, then, here's a few of my personal favorites:
Terraria (Currently $2.50): Like 2D Minecraft with more RPG elements including multiple bosses and rare gear and spells
Recettear (Currently $6.79): A JRPG based around managing an item shop. Has a demo which is a good representation of the whole game.
Giana Sisters (Currently $7.50): A fun platformer with a pretty neat twist. Also has a demo
Guns of Icarus Online (Currently $5): Tactical Airship combat with up to four players per airship and up to four airships per side. A bit rough around the edges, but still pretty fun if you have friends to play with.
FTL (Currently $5): If you like roguelikes and dying horribly in deep space, you'll enjoy this one.
Audiosurf/Beat Hazard/Symphony ($2.50/$2.50/$3.39): All of these have a general theme of 'Playing with your music'. Audiosurf is a puzzle game type thing, Beat Hazard is a twin stick shooter and Symphony is a bullet hell type thing, but if you enjoy one, you'll probably enjoy all of them.
Nation Red (Currently $2): Fun multiplayer topdown zombie killer. Not terribly deep, but at $2 a copy it's good for fun with up to four friends.
Jamestown (Currently $3.39): A top down bullet hell that's very well put together. Allows up to four same-screen players if you have a place to set that up.
World of Goo (Currently $2.50): A fun puzzle game involving building bridges and such and quirky humor.
Space Pirates and Zombies (Currently $2.50): A space game that's difficult to summarize, but quite a bit of fun. A bit too simple to be called a 4X, but too complex to be called a shooter.
Cave Story+ (Currently $3.99): A fun Platformer that's surprisingly difficult at times.
Psychonauts (Currently $4.99): Look, it's Psychonauts, okay? You've probably already heard of it.
Dungeons of Dredmor (Currently $2.50): A fun roguelike where you will die horribly while exploring dungeons with skills like Veganism and Mathomancy
That should be enough to get you started. Hopefully you'll enjoy at least one of the above, although if you follow the Humble Bundles you probably already have quite a few of them.[/quote]
Thanks for the suggestions! I think Recettear is more my bag here. And Psychonauts, if I didn't already own it. It's also one of the best games ever, I think.
