Looking through people's lists, I'm glad to see movies such as Hidalgo and Princess Mononoke mentioned. They're truly brilliant films. Also, Naked Gun was mentioned - I love Leslie Nielson, and I laugh at those movies every time I watch them.

As expected, Fight Club got a lot of mentions. I didn't think it was that great (I feel it's massivle overrated), but that's just my opinion I guess.
There was a disappointing lack of foreign films mentioned (with the exception of Pan's Labyrinth and Spirited Away).

I find it too hard to make a list, so I'll just throw a few movies I love out there.

- Du Er Ikke Alene
- Let the Right One In
- Pelle the Conquerer
- I'm Not Scared
- Empire Records
- Song for a Raggy Boy
- The Squid and the Whale
- Garden State
- Notting Hill
- Novecento
- Elephant
- Respiro
- Men in Tights
- Elizabethtown
- Alexander

There's probably more, but the list would go on for too long.

For anyone who can't think of a worst movie, I invite you to watch 'Megashark vs Giant Octopus'. They attempted to 'make it as realistic as possible', and failed beyond reason. worst movie I have ever seen.
I might watch it just because of the awesome title, lol.

1. Platoon. One of the most appalling misrepresentations of the American soldier in all cinema. William Defoe and the musical score were great, but they can't make up for the sheer disrespect of it all.
Hey, if all movies had the same "Let's go save everyone to show off our immaculate morals" theme as most other American war movies, they'd start to get (more) boring.

Besides, I'm sure the American Soldiers weren't completely innocent in the wars (especially Vietnam).

Top something-something:
Fight Club - Yup, I just saw this recently, but hell is it awesome.
The Lord of the Rings (whole trilogy) - Just..epic. Easily re-watchable.
All Pixar movies (except for Cars) - Well, this is kind of cheating, but the earlier Pixar movies, mainly the Toy Stories, A Bug's Life and Monsters, Inc. hold so incredible memories to me, and are amazingly re-watchable and still good after that, that if I didn't cheat, I'd have to put all of the Pixar movies here. The later ones, like Up!, Wall-E and Ratatouille are amazing, but as I didn't watch them when I was a kid, and play their PS1 game-counterparts, they don't hold such memories for me. (wow, this came out long...)
The Dark Knight - It's Batman, and even though it's long, it's awesome the whole time.
Majority of the Disney animated feature films - The first ones I can say are Hercules, Lady and the Tramp and Iron Giant (dunno, is it Disney?).
Zombieland - Just awesome. It's comedical, and it has zombies in it.

Well, I don't remember any bad movies, and for a reason. I almost never watch them to the end, I almost never discuss them after watching them, they are never memorable, and I just generally hate them, so they don't stay in my mind for very long.

5 best:
To Kill a Mockingbird
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
The Shawshank Redemption
Blade Runner: Director's Cut
Dr. Strangelove: Or how I learned to stop worrying and love The Bomb

5 worst: I'm sticking to more well known movies here. Yes, we all know Manos: Hands of Fate is bad, but no one ever thought it would be good so who cares?
Daredevil - If you liked this movie, see a doctor now. You may, in all seriousness, have suffered a head trauma and are not aware of it.
Alone in the Dark - It's Uwe Boll, I shouldn't have to say more. This was the worst of his movies, in my mind. It had a decent cast and probably the best game to base a movie on that he's tackled yet, and it is just so full of fail.
Battlefield Earth - Awful. Just awful. Worst big blockbuster of all time. Worst acting, worst screenplay, worst effects, worst script, worst EVERYTHING.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 - Never has a movie destroyed my childhood faith in cinema as absolutely as TMNT 3. This is the point in which I remember realizing that Hollywood was only after my money, and didn't care about me.
Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith - This is the worst of the prequels. It has the worst, vomit-inducing climax of any trilogy in recorded history.

Right, best films I've seen...is rather tough, there are a lot I like.
I'll be Generic and say fight club, because it was brilliant and everyone likes it
Clerks/Clerks 2 are awesome
Star wars, because there is only one trilogy (I mean the original trilogy, I'm indifferent to the new ones).
Pulp fiction again it was brilliant and I couldn't leave it out.
Serenity Because I'm a massive firefly nerd.
And I can't believe how many awesome films that I love have been left out (everything Tarantino, the matrix, V for vendetta, American history X, Monty python films, American beauty, most Guy Ritchie films, The Big Lebowski... etc, etc, etc). Dear god I didn't mention any of the cornetto trilogy, I'm a terrible person.

5 worst films is far more difficult, as I tend to not watch films that don't appeal to me.
White chicks was stand out bad, and I actually sat through the whole thing
Vague genre movie series are all terrible (though in my youth I actually laughed at the original scary movie)
Eagle vs shark...probably not nearly bad enough to deserve to be mentioned here, however I got very bored of it and can't think of anything else I've disliked.

...I'm sure there are more movie I hated, I just can't think of them right now.
*edit* Shark attack 3, hilariously bad.

In no particular order... and without much particuar consideration...

Top Movies

- The Princess Bride (mmm, Cary Elwes, as you wish).
- The Original Star Wars movies.
- Moulin Rouge.
- The Fellowship of the Ring.
- Shrek 2 (Jennifer Saunders, I love you).

Bottom Movies

- The latest three Star Wars movies (even Ewan McGregor-shaped eye candy couldn't save them).
- Twilight (how can Robert Pattinson play a vampire when he is made of fucking wood?).
- Return of The King (I thought this movie would never end. Seriously).
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
- Titanic (mostly from my sister watching it every day for about six months after it came out).

My five favourites:
- The LotR trilogy (I wouldn't be able to pick just one)
- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (easily the best of the original trilogy)
- Pan's Labyrinth
- The Dark Knight
- One Flew Over the Cuckcoo's Nest

The five worst films I've seen:
- You Don't Mess With the Zohan (I still don't know how I managed to sit through this)
- Land of the Lost
- Alien vs Predator (what a huge let down - the premise promised awesomeness)
- Hellraiser 5 (got bored and turned it off).
- Fright Night (a vampire film... it just bored me)
