Yep... I'm talking about commercials again.

While the Escapist's "Single-Commercial Feature" is still working, I might as well talk about the newest commercial I get to watch over and over. I'm not actually upset at this one because even though it's repetitively shown to me, it's not repetitive throughout the actual commercial (so no headaches for me).

Anyway, this one features some people walking out of some lake like it's a deleted scene from Twilight. Meanwhile a narrator is saying:

"The time has come..."

Then it zooms out and then we can see why it's a deleted scene: Because the werewolves had joined the vampires in the lake. It was at this time in my first viewing that I figured it was an ad for Guild Wars 2. The narrator continues:

"...to rise up..."

At this point they zoom over to a bunch of ships with other people on them. This causes me to wonder why these particular people are walking chest-deep in the water when there are perfectly good ships to sail on. Oops... the narrator is speaking again:

"...and join together..."

It switches back and there are even more people in the water, including this really short furry person. Was that little guy also walking along in the water, because judging from the background, he would've had to be deep underwater for a good long while. Narrator:

"...and declare with one voice..."

The big werewolf apparently uses a gun... I guess all the teeth and stuff is for show. Oh dang, an outline of something... might be a dragon.

It's at this point that I think the whole thing turns silly because of a show on the Escapist. See, there once was this great show called Doomsday Arcade. Great start but kinda lost it's momentum near the end. Anyway, the call for revolution, called by video game characters, was: "The Time is Now!"

So after a bit, I was imagining a badly dressed Luigi crossing a mallet and a hand axe shouting "The Time is Now". Recently the whole commercial has started playing out in my head as a Doomsday Arcade parody.

I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have happened if I didn't see the same commercial over and over.

No, there isn't a particular point to this thr... That's a dragon?! Serious inbreeding must be a major problem in whatever land that is...

I believe that's a Charr. They look bestial, but they're actually quite intelligent. Great tacticians and engineers. They're at constant war with the ghosts of a conquered nation and I'd take a gun or sword over just my claws any day of the week.

But yeah, I always thought that particular ad was pretty melodramatic.

it will never be as annoying as the El Shaddai ad.
Oh, I don't think it's annoying, it's just silly now. It HAS led me into watching Doomsday Arcade over again. Really wish it would stop playing that same ad over and over though.

Wow... seeing those people on the ships, I see some people walking on the water too. Kinda negates that whole dramatic "from the seas" thing they've got going on. Also, seems a bit weird to show the people charging forward when the dragon-thing is still clearly high in the sky. And it flew in the opposite direction.

I wonder, did everyone do that stop-reverse-run thing we used to do in school gym? I'm imagining them charging back into the water, still yelling as their heads dip underwater.
