I am from the south. I don't have any kind of pride from it or anything but I realised that I get met with alot of stereotypes because of it. I seem to remember someone once telling me that they had been to the south and the bigotry had disgusted them, or something along those lines. I just think that its weird that these kind of stereotypes still exist. To me, that would be like someone from West Virginia saying that Virginians are dirty when they live about 2 hours away from the Virginian border. I just want to know if any of my fellow southern escapists (for how few of them there are) have any thoughts or experiences about these kinds of things.
