the apocalypse starts and your at work/ school, quick what's your weapon of choice!?!?

so we all have our plans for what to do when the apocalypse starts (whether it be zombies, sparkly vampires, or carnivorous unicorns emerging from another dimension) but there is a snag. instead of starting when you are home the apocalypse begins when you are at work/ school. needless to say you dont have your uzi/ shotgun/ katana you stored in your fallout bunker on hand so you must improvise with what is around you. what do you grab while you are at work/ school to defend yourself until you can regroup with other survivors and get back to your original plan?

i work at Target in the food court and when i get bored me and my coworkers play this game and every single time i play with somebody we always fight over who would get the pizza slicer. its not one of those little sharp wheels on a handle but rather a 3 foot long blade shaped like a half circle but it doesnt have a handle, just a little lip on the straight side for grip. i wouldnt be able to wield it too effectively but its heavy and large and i think i could use it effectively as long as it was on a one-on-one basis

so what is your weapon of choice?

well in that situation my initial response will probably be to throw my classmates into the zombies to by me some time to escape, but should i be forced to defend myself, i am totally going to pick up an easel from my observational drawing class and smack zombies around with that. its far from the most practical weapon available, but it is certainly the most fun.

I'm currently a studying music student, so if the apocalypse started while I was at TAFE, there's LOTS of heavy and potentially like ending objects for rent in the tech office (mic stands, heavy amps, saws, screwdrivers, bass guitars)

24" metal ruler. It's the closest thing I have to a blade at my desk. Aside from my box cutter but I need range, don't I? Maybe my L-square, that's got some added weight on the end.

I study chemistry, but I don't think picking up a container of acid from the lab is useful as a weapon...
I think my choice would be my organic chemistry book, you could give someone a nice concussion with that one, it has about 1500 pages!

My weapon of choice would be dropping these threads (about what weapon would you use in xy situation apocalypse)on the heads of zombies because there seems to be unlimited numbers of them every day, and if they weigh as much as people comment on them then it's an ultimate win!

If it does happen at my school I pray to god that it's the day our morgue is empty becasue if not I'm fucked.

Assuming the lab isn't full of zombies,I'm grabbing a trocar and some scalpels. One scalpel to attach to the end of the trocar and another for close range.

Well at school I would either go straight to the Home ec department or the P.E department. Home ec for the knives and P.E for the hockey sticks and cricket bats.

I'd grab a British army issue SA80.

My school's got a large and well-funded cadet force, and in case of shit like that I'd actually be required to arm myself, along with the other ~250 cadets, from the Armoury while awaiting instructions.

You see, I'm a Designated Marksman. So chances are I'd also get an L115A1.

And I get a Combat Knife, and the other cadets, and at the firing range we having a few functioning AT weapons.

My plan at work in case of a zombie apocalypse.

Step 1: Hear about zombies.
Step 2: Run to front of store, turn off escalators and shut massive glass door.
Step 3: Run to elevator side room, Emergency stop elevator, and lock/barricade door.
Step 4: Turn off freight elevator out the back.
Step 5: Barricade with beds/couches and other furniture.

This is more of a defensive thing. We don't really have any food.

But barring that, probably a random kitchen knife we have laying out the back.

the Ka-Bar strapped to left side, the ASP on my right side or the butterfly knife in my pocket, 3 things I never go anywhere without(that includes school)depends on which is more convenient at the time.

um, in in a micro lab, so im in one of the best places to comeup with a cure if the cause of the zombies is viral or the like.

as for weapons, um...

i could throw glasswear and them for a bit, or prehaps use a retort stand as a club

Get to the chemistry or physics lab. They have stands in there made of aluminium bars. Deconstruct one of those and you have three good sized staves. Then I take one or two of them and work my way home to get to my swords/guns.

and litterally be able to pull off an A team sequence XD
in conjunction with the D-hall students ( chemisty and electrical engineering, and bleprints quickly bought off the internet for the fabrication machine, i'd be able to pull off an MG-42 with ammo XD.

but more likely, and less time consuming: grab metal plate stamp it into a likely blade shape, quickly grind a sharp edge to it, and make a bunch of those so i can recruit fellow students.
10+ armed students is better then one armed student, right XD?
