Alright fellow (Wo)Man-children we're going on a nostalgia trip (don't forget to pack your toothbrush and a spare set of undies) back to the glory days of the greatest gaming platform ever concieved the Arcade Cabinent.

You know what I'm talking about giant elaboratly painted boxes that were once more commonplace than ATM's, and we secretly wish to have one of these machines in our Pool room.

Now post your favorite arcade cabinents, as well as your greatest achievements and favorite memories of said cabinents.

Favorites:

-Virtual On

-Tokyo Wars

-Virtual Cop

-Afterburner (the VR one)

This thing made me feel sooo sick the first couple of times, but I'll be damned if it wasn't fun.

-Daytona USA

-Crazy Taxi

-Time Crisis

-Jurassic Park

-All of the Metal Slug games, because they're freaking awesome.

-Any Pinball Machine

Achievements / Memories:

-Getting out of the Afterburner rig and not feeling like I was gonna throw up for the first time, I think it was my 3rd or 4th time in it.

-Beating Virtual Cop in one playthrough without dying, took a few hits but never saw the gameover screen.

Street Fighter 2: World Warrior
Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara
The Addams Family (pinball machine)
King of Fighters '98

My favourite memory was in '93
My buddies and I had our own favourite arcade, and one time after uni I went in just to play a couple of games.
There was this guy throwing his weight around being a real dickhead about being "the best" player ever ...

So I said in a nonchalant manner "you look like just another Ken player to me" .. he was raging so bad I got him to agree to a little wager.
"Winner in a best of 5 never comes here again. Ever." .. and to make it more interesting "pub rules on a double perfect."

I got the fucker in game 3 with a double perfect, and my friends blocked the door, preventing his exit until he carried out pub rules ... i.e. dropping his pants and running around the place 3 times.

The idea is to just hook up my PC and consoles to it, I doubt I'll ever become a PCB collector.

Ha, that is the most awesome gaming related story I have ever heard.

OT: The Metal Slug games have always had a special place in my heart.

My favorites would be Silent Scope, all of the Mortal Kombat games, NFL Blitz, NBA Hangtime, and Cruisin' USA/World.

I don't have a ton of great memories from them, just tons and tons of spent quarters.

I'm thinking of buying/building a MK3 cabinet, or buying the Super Mario Bros. one someone is selling in my area. It's all original except for a few replaced buttons, and works like a charm. $200.

-Mortal Kombat 3

-Metal Slug 1-3

-X-men v.s. Street Fighter

-Street Fighter Alpha 2

-Snk v.s. Capcom: Chaos

- Bubble Bobble: Bust a Move

Fondest Memories:

SFA2: Getting the beat down by Dan. >.>

MK3: Getting the rush down by Nightwolf. >:l

Metal Slug: Just that announcer, "whoa oh, BIG! Heavy Muh-Sheen Gun!"

Also, I used to like watching my brother play Neo Geo Cup '98. He was a lot better than me at a lot of games. Plus, by then, I had probably wasted all my quarters.

Those things are rare, and for $200 bargain.
