Now that planes are allowed to fly again over northern Europa, I wish to hear how many people on the escapist have been affected by the ash and the closed airspace.
I myself have been waiting for a game that I bought over the internet and it's now three days late.

Well seeing as it never hit the US it never affected me.

But my parents (especially my mother) on the other hand, had to redo and fix a lot of things because of it.

I'm expecting some LPs in the mail that I ordered since before that volcano started erupting, still didn't receive those, but the 72 Pin Connector for my NES that I ordered two days ago was in the mail today.
I guess theres a huge pile of boxes to ship and the ones from Thursday are somewhere on the bottom.
I was also planning to go see some gigs this week but most got canceled because the bands couldn't get to Europe.

I haven't been affected at all, but I believe some of my housemates were stranded for most of this week (not good considering our lectures all started again last Monday...).

I was waiting for a shipment to come into the store, brand new products. The other store selling the same thing in my city got it before me because my shipment got stuck in england... That annoyed me and lost me about 20,000 Norwegian Krone! XD

Also, my dad couldn't go to a friends wedding, that was kinda sad.

I wasn't effected by it personally, but I think that the travel companies should be sued to hell for taking advantage of those who were.
I have a friend who's father had to pay three grand for a flight to Paris...coach!!!
Not only that the airports have effectivly taken travellers hostage if their visas have ran out making them pay ridiculus amounts of money for supplies.

I think it is disgusting what some of the travellers have had to go through, in times of natural crisis travelling companies should do all they can to help their cutomers not rape them for all they are worth.
And please don't anyone quote me saying "thats just business" because that isn't the point I made, and it's not business it's extortion and greed.

It happened during our (UK) school holidays... Many people were abroad with their children at the time. Teachers, doctors, my dominatrix etc...

But that's just the obvious stuff. There are some serious holes in the entire European economy at the moment and places which rely heavily on tourism will be struggling to deal with that. I'd also expect all airline flight tickets to cost a lot more over then next few months to compensate for it.

We've all been affected by it, we just don't know how much yet...

I have to work an extra shift at my shitty workplace this week because co-worker is stuck in Florida... So I'm fuming lol.

I love being Australian more and more every day. All we have to worry about is the water buggering off occasionally. Seriously a 3.5 earthquake (or somewhere around there) made the news. I'm pretty sure the most that could do is make you nick yourself while shaving. Sorry to hear about your holidays though.

The only way it's affected me is the damn stuff is falling and making my car dirty. Clean it, next day filthy again sigh. I know a few people who have been stuck in Spain or Russia because of it though.

Apparently it's been raining ash intermittently in Carlisle (about halfway up the UK) according to people I know who live there which makes it a pain to go outside, but personally I havn't been affected at all.

Well it took AGES for my new HeadPhones to get here, and Nick Grimshaw wasn't on Radio One like usual.

Apart from that, no way at all.

It has been pretty quite here, life near a route the plane's take when there landing. Now i'm slowly starting to notice them and the odd chinook helicopter for some reason.
Luckely it's not a big airport.
