Bell gone for 76, England 254 - 9. Anderson and Finn at the crease. Lots of cricket left to come. Plus the possibility of a 400 partnership for our last wicket.

I HATE CRICKET, I have made a list of top 3 most boring televised sports
1. golf, sometimes you can't even see the bloody ball
2. cricket, dont know why i dont like it, probabally the becouse i'm not amused by grown men hitting a ball with a funny stick and other grown men chaseing it (and im teenager who gets amussed by a fly tapping on the glass....silly flys)
3. lawnbowls, yes i do find it funner to watch then cricket, and i don't know why.

Australia 0/24 at stumps. Pretty pleased with that, the pitch should be better to bat on tomorrow when it hardens up. Great bowling from Siddle to make the most of the conditions. Only downsides were Johnson's poor bowling, and a couple of dropped catches.

PONTING GONE! Not a nice way to go, feather of a nick down leg side and caught at wicket keeper. Clarke(vice captain) in, big wicket if we can get him quickly.

You mean the Wooden Pillar that unlocks the way to Krikkit?
I was going to see how many posts it came before the Hitchhiker's quote.

Three posts, nice work.

Seeing how America isn't involved, I have to say I'm not paying attention, or even knew the ashes actually existed outside the book series.

Katich gets his half century, then is out caught and bowled for 50 by finn. Clarke and Hussey at the crease, neither batsman settled. Australia 100 - 3. Good start to the session, let's keep the pressure on. GAME ON!!!!

I must admit, England is bowling better than I expected they would.
Really? Anderson and Swann have been amongst the best in the world recently, Anderson is probably the best swing bowler around.

Clarke caught off Finn for 9. I was only a matter of time the way he was playing. Australia 140 - 4. North joins Hussey at the crease.

Marcus North goes for 1. Bowled Swann caught collingwood. Australia 143 - 5. You need a partnership pretty sharpish.

You've gotta laugh at how many people are posting here just to make it known that they hate cricket...

Anderson has failed miserably in Australian conditions before, because when the ball isn't swinging he tends to be very easy to score runs off.

And off spinners are routinely slaughtered here. Murali and Harbhajan, two very highly regarded offspinners, averaged 62 and 73 respectively here. The spinners that have been most successful in Australia, Kumble, Kaneria and (arguably) Chandana, bowl leg spin.

North is useless, never expected him to make runs. Hussey is the key.
