I'd try to answer some people's questions here, buy it's after two in the moring, I'm tired, and I physically can not be be arsed to try and edit quotes on my phone. So instead I'll take any questions anyone wants to ask of me and make a more proper post later.

What's it like quoting from a phone?

Question to anyone: Have you ever conceded to someone else's argument on this site before? How many times has it happened?

Also, do you find yourself perpetually drawn to forum drama?

Also, also, how cool am I on a scale of "super cool" to "pretty rad".
{1} Sure, if they can argue their way out of a paper bag. Some people are informative and make sense, others should reconsider their methods. As for the amount of times...

...no idea.

{2} Hell no. Won't even touch Gamergate. Last stuff I ever got deep into were the non-payment-of-content-givers situation and the Extra Credits debacle.

{3} I liked your Mao avatar better.

Who am I?

1. I can't think of an example off the top of my head, but then again, I don't get into many arguments. I do know it has happened multiple times though and I always thank the other person for enlightening me.

2. I'll watch to try and get the gist of what's going on, but almost never participate. Although, I'm not sure what you'd classify as drama since arguments can sprout out of just about anything. Though, I don't really get in many arguments so I suppose it doesn't matter.

3. I don't think you're on either end of the sale, but somewhere in the middle. Probably in the "totally gnarly" section.

It depends. If you're just quoting the person and don't plan on editing it at all it's easy. If you plan on making any changes it can be a massive pain in the ass. And if you plan on quoting multiple people and editing them then you're just asking for trouble, especially if your phone has a habit of not clicking where you want to and deleting too much if you hold the backspace button for a billionth of a second too long.

Probably trying to not go to work.

African or duck?

None as far as I can remember. It's mostly because I can't be arsed to deal with said arguments most of the time, but also because I probably would have gotten myself banned by now if I did try to add my two cents into some of the arguments I've seen around here.
Also, do you find yourself perpetually drawn to forum drama?
If I can get a good chuckle out of it sure, but 99% of the time that doesn't happen so I try to just avoid it. Besides, Jut about every time I've tried to keep up with the latest bit of drama I usually end up wanting to bludgeon one side or both over the head.
Also, also, how cool am I on a scale of "super cool" to "pretty rad".
Hmm... where would you say gigantically awesome nerd fits on there?

1) Several times. Conceding defeat is the conerstone of getting the respect you need to have a proper argument in the first place. Sometimes its just to pieces of arguments though.

2) Depends on the drama. I'll join in if
a) I feel there's any room left for some proper mediation
b) If I think I could learn something by checking it, like if its a subject I'm unfamiliar with
c) It isn't something that has been mentioned several times already in the past.

3) I look forward to finding out.

You are in a time beyond time itself, in a dimension too complex for your puny mortal mind to comprehend.

You have been chosen as the one who will finally give the giraffes staplers, explain the meaning of quadriceps, and turn all of the oranges pink.

We are your followers. ALL HAIL THE SAVIOR!

Giving respect entails getting respect usually. While conceding is a great way to gain respect, that is usually post-debate. Whenever a discussion comes up always listen to both sides, use non inflammatory language, and submit your ideas from a place of understanding or supportive thought. That almost always makes for a perfectly civil debate. I try my best to post in that way, and it makes avoiding huge fights or anger easier.

Unless you like Grey Jedi that is... grumble grumble.

Ok question time for me.

1. I noticed the majority of repeat posters are from before 2013, was there a huge rush back then, would you consider that the "Golden Days"?
2. What was the group dynamic of this forum like before the Gamergates and exposed Games Industry foul play? This probably gets asked a lot but I never saw it.

Well, I don't really remember the Escapist before the Games Industry Foul play times. That was going well before Gamergate. Lots of "Fuck EA"s and other stuff like that. Then there was some stuff that still persists today, like questions about your gaming preferences, or requests for ideas for new games, like "Where should the next Assassins Creed take place?" We also had some content producers who are no longer part of the Escapist, like MovieBob, who was known for making statements that sparked lots of backlash, or a bunch of webcomics that got updated weekly the way Critical Miss is right now. Things are different now, only in the sense that our content producers are different, but I don't really prefer the old ones over the new ones of vice versa. Besides, most of the old ones just moved elsewhere on the internet, so it never really feels like we lost them.

Also, nice to have another fellow diplomat aboard. Welcome.

The Golden days were 08-10.
2011 was the beginning of the end with the Brony Wars and the Space Wizards 3 ending controversy.

You are in an extra-dimensional plane which is completely causally disconnected from our universe except that it shares the same internet.

I don't know how the fuck you got there, you were probably always there.

We probably don't exist.

Since it's on land pre-paid by every Escapist user[footnote]that haven't logged onto their account in over 2 non-GG years[/footnote] still a Pub Club member, I'm sure the ad landlords won't notice at all...

Anyway, how's your sex life?
