I of the 400th Copter have noticed that while we've certainly brought up Shadowrun a lot, we haven't had a full-on discussion on the subject. So:

I've started playing Shadowrun: 4th Edition with my friends recently, and it's a pretty good game. I love the amount of flexibility available to the player in character creation, and the D6 system is simple and accessible, even if sometimes you end up rolling upwards of ten dice to see if someone shot someone else.

But what's really great is the setting. The fantasy and cyberpunk elements merge seamlessly, and reading through the back story, everything really fits and feels believable. It's not like they've just slapped together two different game settings (say, the Dungeons and Dragons universe and the Star Frontiers one) and called it a day.

So, my Escapist comrades, anyone else here like Shadowrun?

I've never played any version of Shadowrun, but I've heard about it and it sounds really cool. I guess there was an old Sega Genesis game based on it? And then there was that shitty multiplayer shooter they released a while ago. Too bad it wasn't an actual RPG in the style of like Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines or something, that would have been sweet.
