Just browsing the indie section in the steam store and noticed this http://store.steampowered.com/app/35460/

An indie title called the ball by Teotl Studios built in the U3 engine. I am quite intrigued by it, zombie king kong, mummies, and some kind of locust (looks just like they stole the GoW models and modded them slightly)

Thoughts? You think it will be good or a flop for the new studio?

Key Features
- Six hours of single-player adventure
- 8 huge levels to explore
Includes bonus Survival game mode, with 4 additional levels
35 secrets hidden away to be discovered, as well as multiple achievements for the player to earn

Six hours of gameplay across 8 MASSIVE levels?

Six hours, 8 levels comes down to 45 minutes a level... Approximately... I don't think this would be worth it. For all the screenshots, it's interesting, but I'd have to see how the game played out.

Don't forget that this is a debut indie title for the studio, anyway the levels would most likely be broken up into smaller parts of course, and being an indie title you wouldn't be paying a full $60-$100 for the game.

I have heard of this, just not many details, I am very interested. Interested enough to buy it when it's out, anyway.

Well it won the "Make something unreal contest" so that has to count for something.

THis is true, but I've heard the "massive level" schpeal before and especially if they are an indie game, I wouldn't try to sell the "huge" point at 6 hours of game play. Maybe they would be better off aiming for immersive gameplay to make a name for themselves, and try to devellop the larger levels later on. I'd rather play an immersive game than a huge one

It looks too frantic to be fun. It claims to be a puzzle game yet in all the videos I've seen there are mummies CONSTANTLY annoying you.

Never head of this, what is it?
It is a contest run by epic games for its modding communities using the Unreal Engine. The winners often get a cash prize and showcased by epic games.

Epic games says :In the $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest, aspiring game developers create modifications (?mods?) for the PC version of Unreal Tournament 3 in a range of categories including levels, characters, vehicles, game types, machinima and more. Exceeding $1 million in value, winnings consist of one coveted Unreal Engine 3 commercial license, over $500,000 in cash awards and additional hardware prizes. The $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest is judged in four preliminary phases and a grand final.
