Isn't it odd how the liver is one of the few organs that we haven't been able to replicate or compensate for comfortably? It's so fucking complex and shit.

I also always wondered what the hell Timelords need two hearts for.

I suppose they are individually smaller.
And I read a few years back about synthetic lungs made up from some plastic fibers that were almost 3 times as effective per volume.
So if I replaced my lungs with synthetic ones, I could have them take up less space, yet still be more effective, thus leaving room for an extra heart.
