I guess i should also be thankful that i don't care about Mel Gibson's personal life or personality in the slightest.
Well that's the funny thing, Mel Gibson has been a film star since the early 80s, and we never really saw him in the light that we have had since we found out about his anti-semitism and all the other ugly traits that came out since the 2000s.

I remember in the 90s he was a really likable star. For instance, take Charlie Sheen, there's only been a short period people saw him as respectable, and that was when he made the movie Platoon in the 80s. After that the world found out about his drug and partying habits, and his love of prostitutes really quick. So for Charlie Sheen he has had a bad rep for a while now.

Tom Cruise has been a lot like Mel though, we didn't know how crazy he was until that appearance on Oprah show. But unlike Mel, I don't think Tom has ever been a likable star, a sex symbol to women maybe, but that's it.

With Tom, I like, not liking the man. But with Mel, there was a time I did like the guy.

Personally, I just figure this is just the type of person he has become recently. Sometimes celebrities go off the wall a bit when they've been in the spotlight for so many years. That's just the problem with that life style, after so many years being under the spotlight, the heat from the light can fry the brain a bit and really bring out the worse in people.

You're saying this is worth a look, essentially letting Gibson off with his actions, despite stating the exact opposite during the whole Vick fiasco.

What the hell Bob?
I could be wrong but I don't believe Bob ever said that Vick should have been permanently banned from football - at the very least he didn't suggest that football fans should boycott Eagles games. Bob did feel that Vick shouldn't be given special accolades or celebration.

If the Academy Awards decided to give Mel Gibson a lifetime achievement award, or if some high profile video editing software decided to put his mug on the cover, I suspect Bob would object to that.

I've been watching this films development and I migth see it. I prefer a brave failure to a boring pass.

As for Mel, I can completely get behiend people not wanting to see his films because of him. I tend to prefer judging the actor rather then the person but people are free to chose which one they want.

I'm not wanting to hold it all against Mel Gibson, but I suppose in a world where Charlie Sheen is still fawned over...

anyway, I agree this movie has a er...brave premise, which I suppose made me somewhat interested...tho I feel weird saying it haha

Haw, haw, haw. Left-wingers spewing rage over Gibson, just because of one drunken brain fart episode with some cops and, of course, his marital problems. Haw, haw, haw. If it were Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, or Helen Thomas you far lefties would be clamoring to defend them. I smell a bit of hypocrisy. Left-wingers and right-wingers are the biggest hypocrites on the planet.
Sadly, even as someone who leans to the left a bit, THAT IS COMPLETELY TRUE.

If any of those morons threatened to rape someone, everyone would be downplaying it.
and as someone who leans to the right a bit...chyeahhhh

okay so Mel's obviously got issues, but between now and that drunken incident there have been other crazier celebrity freak outs. I guess he's just a bigger name and easier to keep coming back to

So... is this image a screenshot from the movie Or is it just a Charlie Sheen type stunt by Mel Gibson that is now going to be used in a movie? This has been around for a while and it seems strange that if it was a movie screenshot that it would be in the public eye so quickly.
It looks like an on-set photograph. Either that or a pre-post-production (heh, weird term) shot from the movie. It doesn't gel with the colour palette in the trailer or in any of the actual screenshots. The film seems to have a lot of crushed shadows (simulating underexposure), that shot has none.

Um...I'm a left-winger and I refuse to give any money to Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, or Helen Thomas, in addition to refusing to give money to Mel Gibson. Or to Charlie Sheen.

We live in a capitalist society--which means money talks. And I talk with my money: I don't knowingly give it to people I find offensive.

As a note, is Roman Polanski considered a left wing person? I certainly was not aware of that. I just know him as a creepy child-rapist that lots of people (regardless of political orientation) defend because apparently raping at 13 year old...which he was found guilty of...is not that big of a deal, and *having* to live in luxury in France is such a hard life.

Another note: Mel Gibson has said anti-Semitic things on multiple occasions. And sexist things on multiple occasions. And homophobic things on multiple occasions. It wasn't just one time.

I remember seeing a preview for this. The entire audience was either nervously laughing at it for seeming so ludicrous, or dead silent, paralyzed with "WTF?"
I like dark comedies (although this isn't really one of those??), but I wont be supporting anything to do with that guy.

Yeah Bob, really? No moral tirade on this one? Not going to protest putting money on the pocket of a racist wackjob? I mean, he wasn't killing dogs, sure, but he's still a pile of shit.
