The Bella Twins must switch partners in order to grow as WWE Divas.

I know that sounds silly but it would be best for their careers, best for business, and best for fans. For those who aren't aware, Brie Bella is currently married to Daniel Bryan, while Nikki Bella is dating John Cena. They are two of the top Superstars on the roster, but for different reasons. Bryan is an "indie darling," someone who wrestled on the independent scene for something like a decade, and is incredibly proficient in the ring. In terms of the top pure wrestlers on the roster, he's going to be in the top few. Meanwhile, John Cena is one of the top Superstars on the microphone. He can cut a promo like few others, and has shown a great deal of diversity in doing so. Remember his rapping gimmick? Neither Superstar is as good on the other aspect. Bryan's mic work is really not that good, and Cena is a mediocre wrestler whose matches are usually not worth watching because of technical skill; they're worth watching for other reasons, like the story being told or the other worker.
To a lesser degree, each Bella sister is like this, too. Brie is better in the ring and often looks hopelessly lost on the mic, while Nikki -- as shown most recently on the August 18th episode of Raw -- shows composure on the mic with an understanding how to deliver a promo, but is much less accomplished in the ring than her sister. The Bella twin mirrors her man.
The only logical reason for this is that the Superstars, who have been doing this far longer than the Divas, are helping their women improve at the skill at which they are proficient. Bryan is helping Brie improve in the ring, while Cena is teaching Nikki how to cut an effective promo. Bryan can't help Brie on the mic because he's not particularly good himself, and ditto for Cena and in-ring work.

If the Bellas want to improve their overall package, they should trade men. I mean, "Twin Magic" is a thing, still, right? So it's not like the men would even need to know. They just need to trade places for a year or two -- just enough for them to become good enough at their lacking trait. It will be then that they will both in the top tier of Divas currently working. Alongside AJ Lee and Eva Marie.
This might be made more difficult by the fact that the Bellas are currently at the beginning of a feud -- possibly both on WWE shows and on Total Divas (we'll find out this season), so they might not really want to do this. But this is about their long-term careers, the WWE product, and the fans. That's worth it.
The only other way to accomplish this same goal would be to somehow fuse the two Bellas together, but the trade-off for that -- in addition to the likelihood that it's not possible -- wouldn't make it worthwhile. We'd lose one athlete, which means that instead of having two, we'd only have the one. The Bellas only made it to WWE because of the twin factor; without that, even with a combined set of skills, who knows? The time it takes to heal from some sort of fusion surgery would probably take just as long as it would to have them switch partners and learn organically. Plus, one Superstar would lose his partner, and that could make him depressed and potentially spiral all throughout the company.
Yes, the Bella Twins need to switch partners. It's best for everyone.
