god there's just so many awesome ones...

I'll say final fantasy x gave me a tingle of sadness.

Kingdom Hearts 2 made me cry... beautiful music aswell. (Btw KH3 is shaping up to be the most epic end to a franchise ever :p)

Final Fantasy 8 ended... and I was like: 'Now what do I do with myself?!' I'd been playing it for so long, and I was so invested in the characters... It helped at the time that I knew they were making a sequel... Only it never came :(

There's tons of others... I love a good ending :p
Tetsuya nomura has said that he will continue with the franchise after KH3.
Yeah but he has also said it will be the end of the 'xehanort saga'. So Afterwards it will probably be some other kind of over-arching plot and maybe completely different characters.
nomura also said that sora will continue being the main charackter, if anything he will simply be older.

Well, one of the best endings I've seen in a while was for also Portal 2, but for non-conformist's sake I'll shout out Singularity. Couple different endings depending what you do at the end, and overall the game was pretty refreshing to play through. Worth a poke if anyone wants a good Call-Of-Bioshock-Metroid-Duty-Prime adventure.

As for old-school endings... Final Fantasy 4 on the Super Nintendo. Just.. the moon.. and Cecil...and Golbez... "Sounded like someone was saying -So Long-..." One of the more fulfilling endings I've had. FF4 always has my heart.

I'd have to go with Halo (though they're officially "not over" now;) at the end of Halo 3, watching Master Chief, after three games of pure, total awesomenss, simply ending as he began, returning to cryo-statis with a casual "wake me if you need me," ugh... great ending...

Metal Gear Solid 3. Seriously man, holy shit. It is so unbelievably good that I feel bad just thinking about it, because I know I will never be so blown away by an ending ever again.

Deus Ex. There is no good, or bad ending. There are just that, endings. The world will be however you choose it to be. What you think is best is what will happen.

Harvest moon its a wonderful life. You die....thats it....the game that mimicked real life in such a way that showed people age and some people die ends in the in the one way it can. The one way it must. The year before you bite the dust you know its coming you just don't know when. Man best thing ever.

For me its metal gear solid, I mean the end cutscene is 30 minutes long at it all has such purpose and meaning, It has me feeling so connected to every character and to all the events. And somehow they managed to make an ending that did such a great franchise justice.
Definitely this. Oh how much the answer is this.

seriously it has to be red dead redemption for me.It was easily the most memorable ending to a game in recent memory, if not ever. it was the perfect ending, to an almost perfect game.

I really liked the ending to Red Dead Redemption.

Of course I only picked an ending to a game I have played.

Shadow of the Colossus. I could go on for ages about how perfect the climax is (the climax coming AFTER the massive final colossus), but that would require heavy spoilers. Team ICO perfectly blends gameplay and cutscenes, familiar mechanics and shocking new ones, tragedy and hope. The juxtaposition would make Doomsday Arcade proud.

Has to be MGS4's, especially when it includes this as a magnificent final boss

Absolutely wonderful game and series.

Ok, not a game, but Stephen King's book, The Running Man. If I had to choose a game, it would be Red Dead Redemption.

Fallout 3, the good ending. It made me feel like such a hero for choosing the path of the righteous man and striking out with great vengeance and furious anger against the evil that was the Enclave.

Red Dead Redemption was a good ending, but I personally liked the Bioshock endings a whole lot more.

I don't know just sort of stuck out to me as a Narrative Ending compared to most of the general bland, Hero Saves the ______, endings.

Bastion. So much Bastion. I think it was the only ending ever to make me nearly cry tears of melancholy.

Honorable mention also goes to Portal 2, which nearly made me cry tears of joy.
