Favorite mod.... urgh... so many to choose from...

Alright! Fine! I'll just list my favorite mods for each game as trying to sort them gives me a throbbing headache.

Unreal Tournament 2004: Balistic Weapons and Heaven of Relics.

Skyrim: aMidianBorn Book of Silence, Athyra's Comprehensive Enhancements , Immersive Armors and SkyUI

New Vegas: New Vegas Bounties II, Caesars New Regime, Electro-City and Project Nevada

Fallout 3: EVE, FO3 Wanderers Edition, Weapon Mod Kits and Marts Mutant Mod

The one and only Sith Lords Restored Content Mod, followed by Brotherhood of Shadows: Solomon's Revenge for KOTOR1. One of them makes the best Star Wars game of all time even better, and the other one lets you relive the final moments of the Mandalorian Wars as Revan before the fall.

I'm utterly unsurprised that I was beaten to the chase on both these things =D KotoR 2 is probably one of the best games of all time and it's unplayable in its original form to me now I've experienced SLRCM. I can't believe they actually managed to do all that work.

And to be honest, I preferred Solomon's Revenge to actual KotoR proper. It didn't have the expansive world exploring feel ( it is a mod afterall =D) and I would have liked more time with the ships crew, but the actual writing and events were amazing and make KotoR proper feel a bit flat and superficial afterwards.

Knights of the Nine: Revelation

I found this mod during one of my annual Oblivion replays and it just blew me out of the water, an excellent mod to say the least. I suggest all Oblivion fans get it.

This one's on the tin. What is the best/most fun/most enjoyable game modification you know of or have played. For me it's Europa Barbarorum, the best, most historically accurate total conversion mod for Rome: Total War.

If you like historically accurate grand strategy you should check out Death & Taxes for Europa Universalis III and APD for Victoria 2, they both add an incredible level of historical accuracy to very deep grand strategy games.

Ah, this one's easy for me - in spite of there being several truly excellent mods mentioned in this thread.


Mechwarrior Living Legends - it's a total conversion mod for Crysis Wars. Think it won mod of the year a while back. Check it out if you ever liked Mechwarrior/Battletech or giant stompy robots generally (There's a huge content/bugfix patch coming soon). http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/

This one's on the tin. What is the best/most fun/most enjoyable game modification you know of or have played. For me it's Europa Barbarorum, the best, most historically accurate total conversion mod for Rome: Total War.

With you on modding Rome, although I prefer Roma Surrectum II, mainly because it's optimised for use with Barbarian Invasion and Alexander (more unit types, bigger map etc), whereas I don't remember EB being meant to take advantage of the revised AI and whatnot.

I've just spent an evening playing it in fact, preparing several key regions for the Marian reforms, which I expect to be able to initiate in a few more turns. So far, I'm at around 590 A.U.C and Macedon, the Boii Confederation, Scythia, Pontus, and Sparta have been destroyed (only Macedon and the Boii by my own hand), and the Free Greek Cities no longer have a presence on mainland Europe. I'm now in control of everything from Massilia in the west to Odessa in the east. The frontiers are relatively peaceful at the moment apart from the odd bandit raids. Pergamon had a crack at taking Odessa from me but got swiftly spanked and came crawling for a ceasefire on the next turn.

Now I'm concentrating on building up my cities (oh, RSII building tree, how I love you!) so that I'm in a position to start replacing my Polybian cohorts with Legionaries as soon after reform as possible. Then Carthage shall burn...

Also worth mentioning (totally unrelated) for anyone who still has Silent Hunter III is the Grey Wolves mod. Basically a complete rewrite of the game. Adds a fuckton of units, sorts out the historical timeline, etc etc. Silent Hunter III: The Grey Wolves is still the best in the series. Sure, 4 & 5 might have looked prettier, but in terms of gameplay, immersion and accuracy, they don't come close.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day I remember someone made and released an Aliens total conversion for Doom - all new enemy sprites, weapon sprites, sound effects, voice samples, the whole nine yards. Blew my mind at the time. As far as I know this was before anyone else had released an Aliens-based FPS.

Honourable mentions to the KOTOR2 restoration mods for bringing the game back to something like it could have been, but as a high school kid that was a huge fan of Aliens AND Doom, I don't think anything will ever wow me again quite like that Aliens mod.
