The best/most memorable/favorable/excitable weapon in any game

In response to the recent thread: "The worst and most pointless weapon in any game.", I decided to try and view other people's opinions on what are their most favorable and preferred weapon in any video game.

Much like the above thread, the weapon's primary focus must be that it is a weapon, not something with some trash side effect and it's main purpose is that it should kill, injure, or make something have their life flash before their eyes.

My main weapon of choice is one from the Fallout universe (specifically Fallout 3) and is known as Callahan's Magnum. Quick, reliable, simple to repair and find ammo for, and excellent at being a hand cannon with the only minor issue of obliterating the Brotherhood of Steel.

Surely you have your own preferred weapon from your own preferred game?

Well my first choice will have peoples eyes rolling, but the Gravity Gun from Half Life. Especially using it in Ravenholm with the circular blades, the cannisters and other various heavy items. It's great fun taking on a bunch of enemies using what is essentially an improvised weapon.

Bioshock 1 and 2 have their flaws, but I love the weapons. In Bioshock 1 there is the crossbow, and in Bioshock 2 there is the rivet gun. Both of them have the option of trap bolts. Setting up an elaborate trap using those bolts and plasmids is the highlight of combat in those games.

Dead Space has some brilliant weapon designs, although some of them are not that effective. For example the rifle has a cool alternative mod where you crouch down with the gun vertical, and it shoots in a full circle above your head, hitting all enemies around you. The downside is that the combat is based around removing enemies limbs, so it wasn't that useful as the bullets were all around waist height.

The Carnifex from ME:2 (I think that's the name)

That thing was a man stopper and looked badass at the same time!

Gravity Gun from Half Life 2 because nothing beats the raw power of experimentation.

"OK Mr. Zombie, we will redo that shot. This time, make me believe that you have been ripped in half with a circular saw"

No wonder ninjas are still around. There wasn't a gravity gun in Half Life.

The Cerebral Bore from Turok 2.

Seeks out an enemies brain, latches onto their head and starts drilling inside, messily spurting out blood and brain matter while it does. Once inside it explodes.

Mindblowingly fun.

The Redeemer from Unreal Tournament:

Nothing beats a handheld remote control nuke.

Also this:

The Gnasher from Gears of War. Once you get skilled at using it, it becomes the most satisfying gun to use in any game ever.

hmm well I did love using the chainsaw in left for dead. Then there was the lancer in ME3, that kickback got me all goey and the non-reloading made it so conveniently relaxing.

Of course sawn off shotgun in Fallout series is a no brainier (pun intended :D). Dual wielding in baldurs gate series two flails and seeing your enemy become chunks of meat is also a great way to enjoy the last crumbs of the bag of chips you ate also.

Ho hum, so many memories.

Oh man, and it took 'em until Gears 3 to force players to actually be clever about how to use it. Way too often I'll see teammates whip out their gnashers and charge headfirst into a pair of guys waiting with lancers, all the while yelling 'No don't do that! This isn't Gears 1 anymore!' It's a bit trickier now but when you can get this gun to work, it works.
Gears is full of crazy weapons. That digger launcher which shoots the explosive grub thing that digs into someone and blows up? Whoever designed that should be given a medal.

Can't decide between the BFG 9000 and the Spartan Laser. Every time you fire either of those things awesome ensues.

It's a simple choice, perhaps, but I'll have to go with the SAS-12 or the double-barreled shotgun from the Uncharted series. They're just shotguns, but more than any other weapon I've ever used in a game, they FEEL powerful. When the enemy flies backwards, it looks like he was actually thrown back from the blast, not as though I pressed a button and he jumped.

If I could actually own any video game gun it would be the portal gun. I mean, I'd probably accidentally kill myself with it (especially without the leg bracers), but it would be awesome while it lasts

Any grenade launcher from Fallout New Vegas. There's something very relaxing about firing grenade after grenade into angry group of bandits/deathclaws/cazadores/innocent civilians and watching random body parts fly in all directions.

I still like the shotgun in Bulletstorm. God slamming his car door levels of buckshot for sure :D

Also the Sawn Off Shotgun is Gears 3 was FUNNY. Everyone raged so hard at the level of Instagib it brought to the table, literally oneshot killing entire teams if they were stupid enough.

Gonna loophole this shit and talk about Ezreal's bow glove... Thing. It's so cool!

Autoattacks it's a glove shooting little bits of energy, Mystic Shot/Essence Flux turns it into a little hand bow and it grows to twice Ezreal's size for the Trueshot Barrage channel. It fires with such force it lifts him off the ground. Fucking best move in the game.

Also Aigis from Persona 3 is best weapon EU. Yes, i'm loopholeing this thread so hard it's not even funny. You see she's the 7th Generation Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon Aigis. #swaglogic

She's so broken in Persona 4 Arena if you get your Orgia Mode right. You can go in with an overhead, do a low hit then IMMEDIATELY do the same overhead again within the same 1.5 seconds max to hit confirm a free combo. That's with missiles covering your way in as well.

The magnet gun in Red Faction:Armageddon. It was pretty much one of the best features (or should I saw one of the few features in a mush of crap) that was great about that game. Shooting an enemy than shooting the wall to watch them fly off, or shoot the ceiling and then your enemy to make it collapse on them. Pity there was so much wasted potential due to that game's environment...

Flak cannon from Unreal Tournament. It is essentially just a shotgun with a grenade launcher attached to it, but still, that weapon just feels awesome and satisfying to shoot.

Also, all kinds of melee weapons from Front Mission series. What I really love about them, is that they make sense! There are no giant robots wielding giant swords, because everyone knows that you cannot slash armor! You can smash armor or you can pierce it, and melee weapons provide just that. There are 3 kinds of melee weapons: knuckles, clubs, and piercing spikes, and watching one wanzer smash another in a fist combat is oh so satisfying!
