Street Fighter V is the only thing I've bought and played so far this year. The game is great if you like online PvP and don't mind the lack of single player content.

Just noticed/remembered that "Star Fox Zero" was put in the OP's list. How have you found it? I've been meaning of having a look at these games but as far as Nintendo consoles are concerned the Wii U is pretty much all I have.
I think its absolutely great, I haven't had any issues with the controls myself.

At the top of my list is Enter The Gungeon. A shoot 'em up, dungeon crawler that improves upon The bInding Of Isaac's formula in my opinion, and the bosses are great challenges.

1. Stardew Valley
2. Overwatch (Beta, still forming my opinion)

I haven't played a ton of new games this year. Looking forward to trying Stellaris and Warhammer.

Stardew Valley is a phenomenal achievement and should be in line for some kind of awards recognition. Probably too niche to capture a lot of GOTY accolades, but it's a special little game.
My fiance has been utterly addicted to Stardew Valley for weeks. Kinda looks like Harvest Moon on crack. Don't think it's my kind of game, lol.

Also, you need to add me on bnet so we can play the Overwatch beta this weekend. DL'd it last night.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the only game of 2016 I have played so far (PC version).

It is really good. I would easily recommend it to anyone that likes those kind of games...

1. Quantum Break

Actually the only game I've played enough to give an impression. Great game.

I haven't played a whole lot of new games this year, but if I had to rank them from best to worst, it would look something like this:

XCOM 2
Salt & Sanctuary
Hyper Light Difter
Stardew Valley
Good Robot
Factorio
Portal Knights
Disgaea PC

That being said, I don't think any of those games are horrible, however the last three either have issues that need to be sorted out (and seeing as two are still in early access, I'm hopeful that they will get better), or aren't as enjoyable as I remember (Disgaea PC).

As far as 2016 as a whole goes, it's been fine... I guess? Apart from XCOM 2, there hasn't really been anything that I've been super excited about. However there hasn't really been anything (at least from my perspective) that has fallen flat on its face either, so it gets a solid 7/10. Hasn't done anything wrong, but could try harder.

This is where we see I am incapable of remembering what's come out this year.
1) Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
2) Dark Souls 3
3) Stardew Valley

Uh... there really isn't a whole lot else I've played that came out this year. Since I mortally offended Nintendon't by having the temerity to be born in the EU, I'm still waiting on Fire Emblem which would probably have been my #2 otherwise.

Firewatch, Oxenfree, and Superhot are the only ones that immediately spring to mind.

I was right into Hyper Light Drifter for a short while but I kind of lost interest and never finished it. Same with Enter the Gungeon. And Twilight Princess HD.

Severed looks like it has promise but I'm only an hour or two in so it's too early to judge.

1) Dark Souls 3
2) X-Com 2
3) Overwatch (Beta, may rise higher)

Only 2016 games I've played

There's a Melty Blood game on steam!

And I just decided I'll have to pay out for Overwatch, now this!

All I've played that was released 2016 so far is Dark Souls 3 and The Nioh alpha demo. Lucky for me, I've thoroughly enjoyed both of them. If the full version of Nioh comes out this year, I'll be happy with the year.

Others I'm looking forward to playing:
- Salt and Sanctuary (I'll wait for the PC version)
- Rise of the Tomb Raider PC (already out)
- The Banner Saga 2 (already out)
- Uncharted 4 (though I wasn't much of a fan of Uncharted 3 compared to the previous games)
- Total War: Warhammer
- Mirror's Edge Catalyst
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- Dishonored 2
- Outlast 2
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance (not sure if that will be out this year)
- Shadow Warrior 2
- Torment: Tides of Numenera

So the year has potential. Could be on par with last year, where I particularly enjoyed Bloodborne, Life is Strange, Satellite Reign, Soma, MGS V, and Until Dawn.

Erm...did I even play anything new this year?
Wait, yeah, The Division.

I guess...that's it?

I mean, it's the only one I've enjoyed. There was also Slain!, but that turned out to be a very pretty trainwreck with a badass soundtrack.

What I'm eager for though:

DOOM- I wanna see how this turns out
Homefront: The Revolution- I wanna see how this turns out
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil Remaster- I AM TUROK!!
Uncharted 4- Looks great, who doesn't enjoy Uncharted who owns a Playstation? (Don't answer that)
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided- Haven't been able to contain my girly squeals since I saw the latest trailer
No Man's Sky- Are we actually getting this? Is it finally happening this year? Because SPPPPAAACCCCCEEEEE

I'm surprised by how few games people have tried. What about Farcry Primal? That's a big game, but I still need to pick it up.

Life is Strange got its physical release this year, so seeing as that is the only game I've bought this year so far, that. Well done Life is Strange for being the only thing interesting enough to buy in the first half of this year.

Look me being grumpy. Uncharted 4 comes out on Tuesday(hopefully Monday, come on Amazon) and Valkyria Chronicles Remastered comes out the week after. So I will soon be able to point at those as the best of 2016 (so far).

I've not played Fire Emblem or Bravely Second yet, but those aside, STARDEW FUCKING VALLEY. You want to be a farmer? You want dungeon crawling? You want ludicrous amounts of exploration and secrets? You want the video game equivalent of Valium? PLAY STARDEW VALLEY.

@Sheria: what can I say. Their just haven't been any games that came out this year that I really wanted to play besides dark souls 3 which is amazing. Looking forward to Total War:Warhammer though. Overwatch also seemes pretty good.
