this is, in my opinion, one of the greatest songs from a video game EVER, alongside the MGS2 theme and the theme from Medal of Honor: European Assault.

Edit: Can somebody please explain how to embed a video?

Bioshock had some pretty moving music. I actually downloaded Cohen's masterpiece: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlu2z2gkhhI.

I liked Mirror's Edge, as well. And Fallout 3's radio music kept me entertained as I trekked the wasteland.

EDIT: Who can forget the Ocarina of Time's music? Song of Storms, anyone?

Fallout and Bioshock are EASILY my favorites. I loved the soundtrack before I had even played the game.

I am also a major Akira Yamaoka fan. The silent hill soundtracks are amazing and (sometimes) better than the games themselves!

For instance, Silent Hill 4 had a fantastic soundtrack. Shitty game. Gorgeous music.

Halo is an obvious favorite. That music really gets you in the mood for some epic action. Plus it is very recognizable. Whenever I hear it I just want to go and have some epic battles in a scorpion.

The CoD franchise also has good music though. I like it because it has a mix. The old WWII music, while cheesy, is still fairly patriotic and emotional. The new music, however, just gets me pumped. It's loud, epic, and perfect for an action game. I'm the kind of person who judges music by how it makes me feel, so CoD always gets high marks.

I know other games might have "better" music but these two just get me excited every time I hear their soundtracks.

UT3 has a pretty powerful soundtrack. Some of the songs are from Jesper Kyd, who created both the OST of Hitman and Assassins Creed.

Metal. Gear. Solid.

The scene at the end of the fourth game when:
Big Boss appears, and stands in front of the Boss's grave, and salutes.
The music in those games. I don't cry much, but that scene did it. When the trumpet comes in, I always have to rub my eyes. Seriously emotional stuff.

Also, the music in a lot of JRPGs. Even some WRPGs.

Sacred 2 has Sacred by Blind Guardian.

I actually have it, its on the limited edition of the new album.

Blind Guardian fits that kind of fantasy game, because its power/fantasy metal.

you put the "youtube" and "=RTybifs_xmU" together, and then you use the [ ] to close it down.

In terms of score i'm a Halo man at heart. O'Donnell is like the video game John Williams.

In terms of soundtrack i'd have to go for Guitar Hero: Metallica as i am a Metallica man at heart.

Every single melody from Ocarina of Time. I'm such a fanboy, but Koji Kondo is honestly a genius. There's a lot of 'game metal' bands that redid them, and those sound really amazing. One that comes to mind is where they did the Fairy's Fountain theme with a nylon-string guitar, with electric guitar overdubs. Created a really lovely atmosphere.

P.S. I'm a noob; anyone think they could message me on how to link youtube videos in a post, or if there's a place that describes the process, just link that. Thank you!
