That and some of the best sword cinematography I've seen in a while. Seriously, the final battle between Anakin and Obi-wan is pretty fucking impressive.

But the clone wars is pretty awesome; definitely best in terms of consistant quality.

Really? I found all of the light sabre action to be dull, emotionless and it looked like it was choreographed instead of an actual swordfight.
I was very aware I was watching carefully planned out moves. I liked the light sabres of the original much better, because there was always more stuff going on then flashy lights cluttering up the screen.

Not a fan of the entire Star Wars franchise, but the prequels are on par with Batman and Robin for me.

I loved both of those games. I would love to see a sequel to Republic Commando where the squad has to participate in Order 66. The Clone Wars cartoon was pretty good too. I don't care for the CGI one though. I also really liked the lightsaber fights in the prequels too.

Just look at the way Christopher Lee salutes with his light sabre - he effortlessly exudes style, class and authority. Then just when you think that can't be equalled, Yoda draws his light sabre, and a two foot tall muppet instantly becomes the most badass character in the entire series.

Yes, I prefer the Prequels to the Originals, and I grew up on the VHS Original Trilogy, bite me.

I watched them all, perhaps for the first time completely from start to finish, just a couple of years ago. In two days, and I got the incentive to do that mainly because the prequels featured Natalie Portman, as well as the movie franchise being one of those you're supposed to have watched.

good special effects, terrible acting. Christopher lee looks like he was being told what to do from off camera.

OT: it made me dislike starwars as a whole. After watching the prequels triliogy i hated that, then i watched the prequel trilogy again and relise that was only ok, nowhere near as bad as the prequels but still not very good.

I hope that Episodes 7,8,9 or the remakes of 4,5,6 are done better

I think the lightsaber fights were the best thing, though it is a huge shame there was not much else to back them up.

With some decent acting, script and dialogue, the last battle could have meant something to everyone watching and become something far more then it was.
Had we been able to sympathise with Anakin on a believeable level (or simply found him likeable) and his fall to the dark-side had been handled in a more sensible manner, the entire end fight between him and his old master would have been extremely tragic and emotionally charged, with the audience torn just as the characters should have been between who they want to win.

That alone would have made the end scene an outstanding moment in cinema history.
