Well... since most of the forum seems to be talking about zombies, whats the best zombie horror movie you have seen.

Peter Jacksons, Braindead is close, for its slapstick humour and sickening realistic violence, but Zack Snyders version of dawn of the dead originally done by Romero is a more serious fix.

For anyone who has seen land of the dead... did anyone think that was anygood... or a wee bit to silly.

Big fan of the Dawn of the Dead remake (and I almost universally hate remakes).

It really was part of a change in the genre (along with 28 days, which I hated).
Perhaps we've just become desensitized to the living dead, but watching Land of the Dead, I kept thinking: Just walk away, they're not moving that fast.

Ah man i enjoyed 28 days later, parts of the typical London english GEEZER male was suddenly about during the end, but i personally would find it scarier being in a situation with rage infected human beings than... mouldy human beings. Though i am myself not keen on remakes that remake was the best by far.

There are so many...

I guess I'll list my top Zombie flicks...
1. Shaun of the Dead
2. Dawn of the Dead (Original)
3. 28 Days Later
4. Brain Dead
5. Night of the Living Dead

The original Dawn of the Dead wins hands down for a serious zombie flick.

For less serious, Evil Dead 2.

when it comes to zombie movies my top 3 are:
Braindead
Zombie Holocaust (yea, its a low budget college movie, but it has the most realistic gore i've ever seen)
the Original Dawn of the Dead

Why not the remake?, well, i feel like George A. Romero himself does about the subject, the "creatures" in the new Dawn of the Dead movie are NOT zombies, to quote the great master himself: "If a true zombie were to run it's legs would fall off from decomposure".

house of the dead was the funniest zombie movie i ever seen! by that i mean it was so laughably bad, it didn't take much thinking for me to dubbed it a comedy.

but i have to pick dawn of the dead and all its zombie goodness.

the original Dawn of The Dead

the introduction scene with the Swat Team alludes to a much bigger government solution then had been shown in previous movies or even since then.

Shaun of the Dead. It's the only zombie movie I've ever rewound and watched again immediately after getting to the credits.

Although I loved Shaun of the Dead, I'd have to say that Return of the Living Dead was my favorite zombie flick. It's funny, its gruesome and its 80's.

sad part was uwe was trying to make a good movie, i thought it was actually one of his better ones cause it is supposed to be bad

as for mine

Night of the living dead
dawn of the dead (original)
dawn of the dead (remake, sadly the mall it was shot in no longer exists but is not to far from me)
shaun of the dead
automaton transfusion

for those saying 28 days later, it's NOT a zombie movie, the ppl infected with rage are not dead, to be a zombie you must be dead :)
