The Best Zombie Movie Ever?

I'm going to risk massive flaming and therefore certain death by saying Resident Evil (the first one only ofc, I'm controversial not suicidal).

HA! I was wondering when someone would bring these up. I admit to having love for the RE movies, even though I have renamed #2 "Resident Evil: Nemesis in Love" and #3 "Resident Evil: Trailer Full of Zombies". One of my favorite moments is seeing Nemesis on TV with all the naughtiest language dubbed over, providing me with this gem:

"You motivators is crazy! Look at that big motivator, got a rocket launcher!"


I've watched "I Am Legend" 3 or 4 times now and still enjoy it, even though the plot never quite came together for me. I agree about the CGI detracting from the movie.

Read the book. Which is leagues ahead of that insipid movie.

damn straight. after you read the book, you have to wonder why they bought the rights to the book when they used absolutely nothing from the book except the name of the main character and the title of the movie. They could have saved some money by not buying the rights, and invested the money to make the movie less awful.

... Land of the Dead wasn't to bad either (nor the Dawn of the Dead remake) but not the best

Shaun Of The Dead, by a country mile. It's one of the most entertaining films ever made. Seriously, I find new jokes every time I watch the film.

Also, NONE of the evil dead films are zombie flicks. The deadites (in the first two films) are people that have been possessed by evil spirits, if you get bitten by one of them you are not guaranteed to turn into one of them and they don't really eat flesh.
