Who's picked up Ed McMillen & Co's "The Binding of Isaac"? If you have, what do you think of it? I think it's freaking great and demented and dark and fun and everything I've come to expect from Mr McMillen, though you might have something to add to that...

...also, I guess you could share, like, your favourite combinations so far and stuff but I just wanna know who here on the Escapist has gotten into it

Me, this game rocks! It has so many items! The controls are a bit weird but still super fun!

I've put about 38hours into it myself. I do really enjoy the game. It is clean and tight with respects to Super Meat Boy, but it can be far to luck based for my tastes. There are quite a few things that are based on a dice roll beyond your control that can make or break a run.

Outside of that rather massive irritant, I greatly enjoy the game, and have long since gotten over the creepy and disturbing nature of the visual aesthetic.

Edit: Brimstone and Chocolate milk is soooo OP. Probably my favorite damage combination.

The Nail and the Cross, are must have items for doing a run on the ??? char, as they are pretty much the only way to increase your health consistently.

Hm..I got it the day it came out, as it looked interesting. I usually like using cain, and I usually pick up brimstone whenever I can get it, its pretty much an insta-win upgrade if you use it right. I recently beat it for the 10th time or so, and I unlocked a "ragdoll" looking character who has no health, and can gain no health, only the armor hearts. Its providing a pretty good challange, especially if you are trying to go for the "boy" achievements.

I play it here & there. I'm awful at it though. It's probably one of the strangest, most twisted games I've ever played.

I once encountered an enemy and did a double take as it looked a bit... odd. So to satisfy my curiosity (and to make sure that it wasn't just my mind thinking something was dirtier than it really was) I whacked it into google and, sure enough, got the answer: walking vaginas that shoot lasers.

Third eye + chocolate milk = Powercharge Shotgun blast tears

But the new Brimstone item is Godly. I got it, then just waltzed through and got the Mamas Boy (Dont take damage in Womb) Achievement =D
