I take the the key, beat up the man behind the desk, rescue the other guy, and then split the money.

Has anyone taken into consideration that 10 Million could save more that one life? It's an interesting choice, taken in that light. Save many who would have died, but condemn one who wouldn't. Somewhat like the "One man on a train track" question someone posted earlier.

This has made me think. What about soldiers? Technically, they kill for money. Even though I want to be an airforce pilot it's made me think. Well I suppose you could justify fighting for your country. But what about mercenaries? Are they morally wrong? They're only fighting those who would kill them?
I'm going into the navy and I justified it thusly-
I'm killing people who want to hurt other people. The people I will kill have done bad things and will do more if given the chance.
Your argument dosn't hold up very well. You're killing people who want to hurt other people. But so are they!
They kill innocents. Ta-da, my arguement works.

I would press the button if I didn't know the ending of the video. This planet could use less people.

I'd press the button, kill the other guy, and then take the money and the key.
Loopholes rock.

Edit: Crap. Didn't pay attention. Screw it. I wouldn't press the button.

Pretty nice film. I wouldn't press the button, because then I would have to go through the rest of my life knowing I killed some innocent person just for money. Besides, I don't really need the money. But if I was someone else, if I was poor and had a family to feed, that'd change things. Is their life worth more than me having what I need for my life? And after all, self-preservation is natural, even at someone else's expense. Happens with animals all the time.

Also, if I was in that sort of situation but I wasn't dead already, it would probably be something like if I press the button I get the money but I don't get the key to leave. So I would be screwed if I did take the money.

well this kinda supports my "god is a dick" argument, if he really loved us all so much he wouldent put us through that kind of torment. But anyways yes id take the money, and id argue that more good could be done with it that evil to get it. Of corse assumeing i cared enough about other people to do good things with it. Honestly humans on the whole are choaking the life out of this world and if i could make less of them in a fully leagl way and get paid for it then id say its a win-win situation.

My friend told me about this a few months ago. I knew what was coming but that was a good little short film.

I noticed a small detail that makes all the difference. The man with the millions says "The odds are 6 billion to one." when he probably meant "The odds are 1 to six billion." Seems mr. Roberts didn't notice this.

I've seen that before and while I watched, I had convinced myself I wouldn't push the button. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't.

I'm a nasty person, throughout the thing i had no doubt i'd have pushed the button. Of course in an environment like that i wouldn't. But say in a familiar environment like in my room right now. I'd push it. There are only 2 people who i would mourn for as long as i live. My own and of course this girl who i like. So thats 2 out of 6 billion ( or more, you dont really know if china and india are reporting all births accurately ). Chances are really slim. Plus if half of this money is put into researching inhibitors for diseases like HIV or cancer research it could potentially save millions and billions of lives. Objectively it is the right choice to make.

If a tree in a forest falls down now. And no one hears it. No animal hears it. No one notices it was there and now that it's gone no one noticed. Did it truly exist?

To you, the chances of you knowing this person is basically naught. To you this person never existed. He/she was never there. Now that he/she is gone. You'll probably not even notice the difference.
