Now, almost everyone has heard of him, but I dunno how many people have playing, but...I am a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan.

Some people have said he's gone downhill as of late, some say he hasn't, so right now, I just wonder to hear some opinion atm.

So, what is your favorite Sonic game? Why? and how do you think the series should continue?

For myself, my favorite is Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. It had pretty much everything. A good story, good music, different kinds of gameplay, challenges, multiplayer, a pet raising minigame, racing. It was just a blast, everything was fun.

And for how I think the series should continue...well first things first, trash Sonic 4. While the first few games were good, they really don't compare with most of the gameplay that has been enhanced within the 3D installments. And while I did enjoy the Adventure series style of gameplay (1,2, 2 Battle, and Shadow the Hedgehog), I really think the future of the series lies within Sonic Unleashed. They really really really perfected the gameplay in the day stages of that game, and have finally accomplished a real sense of speed that the series needed again. If Sonic Team/Sega can capture the essence of gameplay that were in stages like this:


And create a full game like that, with a Sonic Adventure style story, and music. A perfect game in my eyes it would be.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Super Tails wins in every way I can think of, it's like a creative god mode you have to work for hours to get.

Really, the massive speed made it worse, as it's impossible to dodge half the crap they toss at you. I think Sonic 4 is the correct way forward.

I agree with you for the most part, I loved Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and was one of the few people who didn't mind Shadow the Hedgehog. However the rest of the newer games never really appeald to me for various reasons. I liked Sonic, I really did, but I think It's time to end the series before any more damage is done.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles for sure. The first two were awesome too, but I fell in love with the levels and music from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Honestly I'm surprised someone here actually likes Sonic Teams' last decade... most people on these forums want them to all jump out a window. I'd prefer Sonic to return to its roots like Sonic 4... Sonic Adventure was a good first step, but all the subsequent steps were stubbed toes and and broken ankles. If they can't get a 3D Sonic game right either find a new team or don't do it at all. But that's just my opinion and I've made peace with Sonic's fate years ago.
