I'm reminding of telling people not to pick on teenaged Justin Bieber, and then he turned into adult Justin Bieber.
That's a real chicken and egg situation that we should probably leave to the scientists (who are very wise).

Always seemed a bit strange, there's plenty of real knowledge if you want to feel special, and lots of it is niche enough to almost be a secret. As opposed to anti-vaxxer stuff, which is very mainstream.
The draw of conspiracy theories is that they do a great job of explaining why you've failed at life- it wasn't your own poor choices and lack of intelligence; it's "them" keeping you down because you know the "truth". (Of course, they can't just get rid of you because that would blow the whole conspiracy wide open... somehow.)

For a lot of them sure...but then how does thinking the Moon landing was faked affect anything? Never got that one.

It's just a desire to be smarter than all the gullible normies.
Again, if that's all they want, there's real information to be found. Some of them put a lot of effort into their conspiracy theory-ing, that would have gotten them somewhere if they'd used it better. Puzzles the will.

Oh, it's because they're not very bright.

On the other hand I can make a youtube video about how any breakfast cereals that have blue dye in them are actually using government produced hormones that make children trans and I could probably get some people to start destroying fruity pebbles and boycotting Post cereals. It's current, it's relevant to modern political discourse, and it gives people something to do.
Isn't this proving the OPs point that you shouldn't listen to what other people say because a lot of it is nonsense that causes suffering?

The OP's point was about not listening to scientists, not random kooks on tiktok.

I mean, that was the group they specified, but the rest of the OP is just as applicable. You could easily replace 'scientists' with 'theorists' and it'd work fine.

Scientists were just a pawn to illustrate the concept.

He is one of those childish people who are quite young and take pride in opposing anything just for the sake of opposing. I could say, he was great and he'd say: "no I am not", it's that pathetic.

Loudly proclaiming that you don't think vaccines work isn't the flex you seem to think it is. The polio vaccine eradicated polio but please go head and tell us more about how vaccines were made up by evil scientists because reasons you've made up, which are totally valid because of your lived experience of being an uneducated moron.

But what about anthropomorphic cows? If your science is so good why do they do magic?
