I cheat to the point that when there are no cheat codes and trainers made for a game, I'll make them myself. (of course I don't cheat online)
And I don't even need them. I've yet to find a game that I am actually incapable of beating. I killed the Asylum Demon in Dark Souls with a broken sword as a thief. I whacked away for at least 15 minutes without taking a single hit. This was the very first time I played the game.
I think I might have a problem.

If I ever encounter a "grinding" portion of a game I find a way to cheat through it either through in-game options or with 3rd party programs like CheatEngine or trainers.

I also mod games a lot to take out time-consuming portions whenever possible.

Basically if I have to -work- doing repetitive tasks in order to progress in a game I try and remove them. My time is too valuable to waste my enjoyment time doing crap I don't enjoy.

I used Poke Save for my 4th gen teams in Pokemon Platinum,. I kept them legal, but at their max potential. Breeding is an annoyance.

I did have a friend who killed Dark Cecil in FFIV. he wasn't aware that you're supposed to defend. In most games, his solution that if the first 100 times don't kill it, you weren't trying hard enough.

does minecraft creative mod count as cheating? because i swear i cant even remember how to craft a pick anymore?
I don't think it does, i think it's more for those who just want to build without having to mine all the resources or bother with the mobs, I use it a fair bit, got a huge collection of pixel art.

I try not to cheat on the first playthrough unless i am truly stuck and have been for ages, then i'll look up an FAQ or use a cheat to get past that bit.

I regularly cheat in GTA (why should i bother with going to a military base to steal a tank or a plane or whatever when i can just cheat them in), though i only ever just stuff around in GTA and never do the missions.

I never EVER cheat in multiplayer, those who do are rotten fun ruiners

Most recently I used the Skyrim glitch to get max speech...and yes I felt dirty afterwards but it was totally worth it.
I'll have to go home and try that one! The only one i've used recently is the Max Smithing glitch in Skyrim, and I don't think glitches are in the same category as other cheats, as they're still fucking hard work haha.

I cheated in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in order to have Super Sonic available in the very beginning of the game...

Used "killallhostiles" in Dragon Age Origins. After beating Branka legitimately which means running around in a circle hitting her every now and then I couldn't summon up the will for yet another "run around in circles" fight against Ser "WTF what's her health and damage?".

I searched the forums and couldn't see this kind of topic. So here's a place to confession your game cheating. Unlocked all levels lately? Invincibility for the win? Easy headshots for all? Let it off your chest.
Hmm, haven't really done much in the ways of cheats for a long time. But there is one series of games in which I cheated like I had money on it, and that's with the Grand Theft Auto games (in particular Vice city and San Andreas, the latter most prolifically). Seriously, why in in the name of the Space Llama would I want to have to traipse from store to store every time I got killed (which when doing the territory missions was pretty friggin often) because I suddenly lost all my gear to pickpocket EMTs? Also, being able to spawn an attack helicopter whenever I want is 31 flavours of fun.

The last time I cheated/exploited a glitch was in Fallout 3.
In operation anchorage I used the Gary glitch to get the sim variant of the gauss rifle because I thought it was stupid to have a gun I couldn't repair.
That's about it in recent memory.

The most recent instance would be using console commands in Skyrim so I wouldn't have to kill Paarthurnax.

Paarturnax was just too awesome to kill.

I distinctly remember cheating in Civ II. Now I'm not very old, and English isn't my native language. So when I was playing that I didn't quite understand what the different things meant. Though frankly I hardly think ICBM is a good unit name, how was I supposed to know?

shit, I can't remember the last game I played that you could actually Cheat in. (GTA I suppose)

I've duped items to and from people in Borderlands 2
I exploited the everloving fuck out of the save and load features of Xcom EU
I bought the 15000 PP DLC pack for Agarest 2
I follow walkthrough's shamelessly for Collectables in any game with Collectables
I lagged out the frame rate in Left 4 Dead 2 so I could beat one of the campaigns on Expert.

There, my cheating is absolved.

The last time I cheated was using the bottomless box glitch in dark souls. After making my way through the game a few times with different characters I wanted to experiment with some pvp builds, and that was just the fastest way to do it. Though I'll also admit to making a darkwraith character with a giant zweihander +15 and pimped out darkwraith armor to do some low lvl trolling in blight-town. Man I haunted the shit outta that place, seriously for like a month all i would do in dark souls was mess with people in blighttown with a dragonslayer bow and the ring of fog.

Final Fantasy 7. I greatly abused the item dupe glitch to get Elixers for those pot things.
I did that too, but by accident. I had exam week and I didn't play for 10 days. Then I came back and he was dead - and I felt like I had cheated - with a reason... Is it still cheating then?
But this was corrected on my 2nd.. 3rd and 9th playtrough.

But on topic:
In WC1, WC2, WC3 and WC3:TFT I cheated to get to the lore-scenes. Because I wanted to play for the cut-scenes and lore but didn't want to withstand those 20-60min RTS nightmares and babysit my army.

Last game I cheated in was Saints Row 2, but it wasn't for accomplishment. It was for the fun of it and there was a lot. Cheat codes make that game even crazier and I have great fun with it. Cheating to accomplish something kills the game for me.

I use cheats whenever and wherever I can in singleplayer games. Multiplayer I do not.

Rome: Total War was another. When I was younger, I didn't really give a fuck about the economy and all that, I was just in it to see hundreds of warriors killing each other on a battlefield (I had never seen such a thing in a video game before. Made the battles in the Return of the King game look small in comparison). I was too young to really learn and understand the campaign mechanics as well, so I'd just cheat me a shitload of money and have at it. Recently, I enjoy campaigns more with the economical and financial sides of things, now I'm old enough to understand and appreciate them, but I did like my mass-army spams back then. Ahh.
This is something I did as well. However, I chose to balance it out by turning up the difficulty to its maximum levels.

If/when I do cheat in games, it is less to make things easier, but more to make things bigger and bloodier than they otherwise could be. It was not unheard of for me to cheat up money in games, and then throw a bunch of it towards the enemies I was fighting, simply to let them keep pumping out troops for me to fight.
