i was watching the show on discovery ,and i am very confused, and was hoping a fellow escapist might be able to clear somethings up for me. so here are my questions.
1.what is the hypethetical apocolypse caused by
2.how much do the contestants know about the show(i.e. do they know people wont hurt them or that it is a t.v. show)
3. can they "fail" the experiment by not being able to survive
4. where does the show take place
if there are any other things i should be asking and havent plz clue me in thank you all.

1. The apocalypse this season was caused by a virus that killed most of the population.

2. They know pretty much everything - that it's a show, that they won't *really* be hurt by anything. But it's pretty realistic in a lot of ways - the scarcity of food and supplies, for one.

3. I don't really think they could fail, unless they went so far as to just say "ok, I'm done" and sat down, refusing to do anything else. They're in no danger of dying or getting seriously hurt.

4. The second season (the one currently being aired) takes place in Louisiana. L4D2, anybody?

Because they're paid to.

Well, they know it's a show, but they don't know everything that's going to happen - they didn't know Becka was going to be kidnapped, so they were surprised and alarmed.

One thing that I find kind of weird is how they deal with the virus - I mean, there's not really an apocalyptic super-virus, but they kind of have to imagine there is, and have quarantine and all that stuff. It's just a little strange how they need to kind of meet things halfway with make-believe like that.

It's still a cool show, though - I've been enjoying it.
