1v1 Death-Row fights. Why the hell not, I'm part barbarian at heart and we've already consigned these folk to death anyway, why the hell not let them fight it out on a field of glory (and blood). Humanitarian? Fuck that noise, let it be voluntary either you get the needle, the chair or the Colosseum. The winner gets a stay of execution but no parole and can choose to defend his title or retire to a solitary confinement.

Chav fights. Any time a drunk person is disorderly, they are taken to the colliseum to fight to the death. All money generatedas a result of ticket sales will go towards the police force. This will ensure not only less srunken thugs on the streets but also entertainment for the masses and a better funded police force.

Well, if we combined that with the launch site idea, we could have something like the Enclave's mobile base crawler. Hmmm...that could rain down a lot of orbital trouble on a lot of rebels at once...SirDerpy said:

The great Colosseum would be used for the first round of the Triwizard Tournament. Dragon fighting...that is all.

Televised Paintball matches! And Esports Tournaments! And other nerdy but awesome things!
EDIT: If It could be for ANYTHING (even the impossible), though, I'd make it for virtual combat (to prevent actual fatalities) of many kinds, including Unreal Tournament style games, and medieval/magic style combat and dragon taming battles and- *goes on for a half hour*
