I know brittish pudding just means a sweet thing you eat after a savory meal and not the dish pudding which is a specific KIND of sweet dish that you eat after a meal, this is probably even less known than the fries shenanigans. It never made sense to me, it's like using the word cake to describe things like creme caramel or ice cream. Alas, I will never understand.

We Brits feel the same way about how you guys use the word 'cookie'. A cookie is a kind of biscuit but apparently all biscuits are cookies in America. It's confusing.

Well, to maybe straighten it out for you...

Biscuit - Hard(ish) bread that, in itself, is not sweet. Bread (And maybe cheese/butter) flavored.

Cookie - Treat made with flour and made inherently sweet through some form of flavoring.

So really, the line we Americans draw is with sweetness. Kind of weird, now that I think about it, but it is what it is.

Well, I wouldn't really call it a war.
We aren't shitting on each other for our preferences. Hell, after reading some of the replies here, I wouldn't mind trying said condiments, especially if they're the kind I wouldn't have much a chance to try.

As for I, my choice would be the good ol' aioli, but due to recent events, Kewpie mayonnaise is just the thing I need for plain noodles or rice.
