ok, so i bought a pc controller for some games for my pc(mainly the new deus ex, fallout 3, new vegas and just cause 2), its a saitek cyborg(i think thats what its called) and no game i own will work because it is not a xbox 360 controller. now i own a 360 but apparently theres no way you can connect it to your pc, you have to buy a specialized one for $60. is there any way to bypass this? i got that xpadder thing and it refuses to work with my OS

Not enough info. First we need to exact name of the controller (there's a crap ton of controllers under this brand being sold from $20 to $105), and second we need system spec for your PC. Once we have these we might be able to help you.

What's your OS? Have you installed new drivers for the controller?

I connect standard 360 controllers to my PC all the time. If you're using a wireless controller then you can buy a USB adaptor from Amazon for $19 and it looks a little bit like this: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows-Pc/dp/B000HZFCT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314150232&sr=8-1

Much cheaper than buying a new controller.

Yeah it's official. It's the same adaptor that comes in the "Wireless controller for windows" pack. I'm not sure if you can buy it in a store, but I'd imagine you could check out Gamestop to see if that has it.

Xpadder works perfectly fine with windows 7. What exactly is the error you're getting?

I use a PS2 controller plugged in by a usb lead and xpadder means every game works perfectly with it, even online Flash games.

According to this website:

http://cyborggaming.com/prod/v3pad.htm

you should have gotten a some software bundled with your controller on a disk. The new drivers should be on there. If you haven't set up the software, that would be why it's not working, and if you did set up the software and it's not working, chances are you did something wrong.

ok, it wont work, got one. this is what i did

1. Plug the USB cable from the Xbox Wireless Receiver into your computer's USB port.

2. Insert the included CD into your computer's CD/DVD drive. Install the wireless receiver's software and restart the computer (if necessary). The software can also be downloaded through the Microsoft Support website (see Resources).

3. Press the Xbox guide button on the controller to power on the device.

4. Press the "Connect" button on the wireless receiver. The light will flash green on the device.

5. Press the connect button on the Xbox controller, located on the top edge of the device near the "LB" button. The device has been connected successfully when the lights stop flashing on the wireless receiver and the controller.

on step 5, all 4 light keep on flashing

EDIT: Found out whats going on, this is what i did

1.Right click on Computer
2.Go to Properties
3.Click on Device Manager
4.Right click on the Unidentified Device
5.Go to Properties
6.Go to the Drive tab
7.Click on Update Driver...
8.Browse my computer for driver software
9.Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
10.Microsoft Common Controller for Window Class
11.Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 2.1.0.1349
12.Update Driver Warning
13.Click Yes
